emergency green light

i needed a green light to enter my grow room last night. green light does not affect flowering phase 12/12 at all. i bought a bottle of pop in a green plastic bottle.
i cut the top off and inserted a 14w cfl bulb and taped it inside with duct tape, make sure you dont cut the hole too big and wrap plenty tape round it to hold it.
i placed it in the lamp and it worked great, the bottle is totally green so i know only green light can get through.
cfl lamps are quite cool so the plastic will not melt and burn your house down.

if the lights green, its green.

the green plastic acts as a filter and changes all other colours to green it has to.

I don't think it does. Even look at the picture you took, the bulb still looks white. The plastic bottle isn't opaque enough - it filters a little bit of light, but not near as much as is coming out. Plus you stuck it on a bulb that's probably pretty bright to begin with.

Can you get green light bulbs at walmart? I found them online, but it's like $8 shipping.

if your going to spend a few minutes in your flower room you do not need a green light.. you will not hurt your plants with the house lights on for a few min.

so what colour is it then big man.

okay i have emailed the company that sold the pop, 500ml sprite produced and bottled by coca cola.

i told them i shone a 14watt white lamp through one of their bottles and would the resulting light be green.

they emailed me almost instantly replying that the colours in the bottle were green and could be recycled as 100% green recyclable plastic so the colour of the light is green.

Doesn't look green but pictures can be deceiving. I don't think a couple of minutes of regular home lighting every now and then would damage your plants though. If they were that sensitive then every clear night with a full moon would end all cannabis cultivation in the area!

it did the trick, my plants are fine i rewired amd fitted my new lights in 2 hours and a couple of days later i bought a grow room clock that has a green cfl neon light running around the face of it.
