we read that they can hatch up to 24 hours apart.
there were three eggs at first, but our other chicken also went broody. we built her a cage and gave her an egg to lay on. the next morning, we found her egg buried in the hay and cold as a rock. the eggs can only go for 4 hours in the heat of the day without their mother's warmth, so that egg was dead.
if the other one doesn't hatch, so be it. not every seed will pop, not every egg will hatch.
although, if it does not hatch, we will go buy a sister for dandelion mcduck. they are social animals, so it is a must.
