dsb65 is very right, getting the htg supply 400 watter is cheap and effective, its what i use time after time, works great but when u get into HID you run into heat problems you dont have with CFL, it just depends on how much you wanna dive into the grow scene, ill tell u one thing, IF you get the cfl set up and wanna grow dense bomb nugs your gonna be bummed sooner than later, that one big cfl is gonna get shit foliage penetration and u will get airy airy fluffy buds (i dont give a fuck what CFL guru/enthusiast tells you)... do u wanna dabble and get your feet wet or save up a few more bucks and get what the pros use???...even if you fuck up your first or even second crop atleast you will have the right equipment...check out my grow in my signature if u wanna see what the 400 from HTG can do...im very happy with it, i only do 2 or 3 plants at a time but i think i could do 6 if i wanted...fuck it, you could even watch my video, grow journal page 1

i was hoping you weren't growing tomatoes ...i grow in a 3 by 3 closet..just dont have any thing going right now...ill help any way i can..
