Pure o2 is actually flammable, it's just that 20% isn't enough go up when ya light a smoke, think of it this way, the o2 in our air is 80% dilluted!!!

If pure O2 is flammable, why you do I need to use Acetylene for a torch set up. Turn just the 02 on and try to light it. Not going to happen. 02 allows other fuels to burn. Period.

Pure anything is not flammable. It's only flammable when it's combined with other things. Oxygen on it's own is not flammable. What would the reaction be?

But elevated O2 levels combined with something that is flammable could make for a firey situation.

Either way your just wasting money on buying / refilling o2 bottles because the plants won't benefit from it. Just buy a air pump and air stones and run that in your water. It will put o2 into the water.

my theory was that an over abundance of water(from the aero) and adding an over abundance of oxygen would somehow beef it up? its not a crazy idea and i thought worth a try since the tanks are free!, again i cost me nothing to do this! but if its a big risk i wont do it

i dont get how the shit can ignite? ok so theres a hot light? if oxygen is not flamable then whats gonna catch fire? the light is in an aircooled hood, which air is being sucked out to the fan. the o2 is being used in the res so i dont see how the unflammable o2 in the water would surface to the top of the water and then catch fire ?

It won't cause one by itself, just make the problem worse if something else happens.

because i dont really see how a airpump would be more beneficial than oxygen in a tank, the tank is on its lowest setting and the airline is ran to the air stornes, is this unsafe? is it even worth it? and no im not paying for the o2

I think yes it will work, dangerous? yes, very, despite what you think as safe because its in peoples homes. You are wrong. as far as o2 not being flammable you are clueless! o2 IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE!!!!! i dare you smoke a joint or spark your lighter when you turn it on!!!!!! Don't be a fool save some money even if you dont pay for it and use an air pump!! Proven not to burn your house down* or cause an explosion! The only way I would run it is intermittently. Meaning on for a limited amount of time and then off for an extended period of time. I would use it more as a steroid or booster than a constant feed. Again o2 is dangerous it's under pressure and extremely flammable despite what you may think.

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of just how flammable stuff is, and what flammable really is.

With few exceptions, everything that burns follows this basic formula:

CxHx + O2 = H20 and CO2

You are taking hydrocarbons (hydrogen and carbon) and combining it with oxygen (from the air which has 20.9% O2) and the reaction yields heat, water, and carbon dioxide via fire.

Oxygen on it's own will not burn. There is no chemical reaction. In fact NOTHING on it's own will burn. A room full of gasoline will not burn if no oxygen is present.

Oxygen can leak though. And if you do have a fire near an oxygen cylinder it becomes much much more dangerous than a fire without concentrated oxygen present. Elevated levels of oxygen will make the fire burn hotter and faster. The tank could explode if caught in a fire too.

Exactly. That's why o2 can be a hazard in the house. And dealing with a grow room this can be a bigger hazard with the lights because if a MH , HPS or other kind of light fail specially if the MH and HPS bulbs crack and the arc tube brakes the added o2 can use the oxygen can cause a huge problem.

I wouldn't use it at all. i would just bite the bullet and buy an air pump and air stones. It will make things alot easier when growing in a hydro system.

TBH CO2 can knock out a fire if one happens because it takes the air away from it and the fire won't be able to thrive.

CO2 is deadly if you breath enough of it in.
