Has anybody here tryed this? i topped my plants one time a month or 2 ago and ive heard tying them down helps make even more bud sites, so anyone here actually tried this? Im trying to get as much off of one plant as possible, i had 9 plants, and 6 were male >_> so im trying to work with the 3 i have left. I tyed them down about a week ago (right before they started to flower) so will this do anything?

Good news! found my camera, will post some pics of my plants later when i go to water, for now here some pics of my best friend, he takes a trip to my grow every time i do :), so yep, take a look out later i should be posting some pics of my plants real soon :)

Edit: ok ive posted the pics finally, took these right after a helicopter passed over, it was close but i dont think it was a pot searching one, so tell me what you think, do i need to change anything with these plants or do they look fine?

boomer posted up.jpgboomer1.jpg <--- i think he knows its dinner time hahaha
what did i get when the family boxer became close friends with the neighbors pit bull? the best friend i ever had :D

this ones starting to bush out a bit i guess, leaves look wierd though, not sexed yet
P1010131.jpg
Probably the best looking one of the 3 left that didnt end up being male, pre flowering a bit
P1010132.jpg
first female to show sex, it almost died a few months ago, then idk what happened it fine now

i have plenty of bamboo planted around it to help make it stealthy, and man was that stuff a bitch to transplant xD But i figure the long fingers of the weed leaves look somewhat like the fingers from the babmoo trees, especially from a distance, the trees offer a bit of cover, yet still let plenty of light pass through them to my girls :) Good thing theres tons of it growing around my woods, there just happened to be none where i chose to put my plants xD

I wish these looked as healthy as the male plants did, but oh well :/

im not sure if my case is different, but i tied down right before it flowered. and it was male.

the other plants that i didnt tie down were female.

it might have been because i tied it down kinda late... not sure

just make sure it's not near flowering phase...

I love tying down, I used to top, it just kind if split the main stem into 2, and slowed/shocked the plant for around a week. When I tie them down I get more than 2 tops, grow a nice bush and they aren't real tall

thanks bro exactly what i wanted to hear, people always talk about topping and i dont hear too much about tying down, so i wanted some reinforcement, but ever since the choppers flew over my plants going on their rounds... stealth has been key, so if it really does help with increasing yield sounds like exactly what i need to do :D

they just started flowering maybe a week ago tho so is it too late? i tyed them down at about the sane time, maybe a day after i knew the sexes

Those outdoor plants look sick...good job. Gotta love the sun, I need to get one of those inside....lol.
Tying will let the smaller branches grow bigger, whatever is highest on the plant grows the fastest. Kind of shares the plants hormones so the main branch doesn't monopolize them.
What state/country do you live in that choppers make rounds?

ur not gon get no more bud than just letting it go naturally, it will just be more bud sites but all the buds will be smaller. each plant has only so much potential when it comes to yield. the only real benefit to me is if u dont want them to get that tall. but tying down is much better than topping its a lot less stress. to me i think its best just to let them grow normally and prune off the lower branches so the plant uses all its energy on the top. makes for a lot easier trimming. trimming an lst'd plant sucks if u ask me. im actually running a side by side this year with two blue dreams, one lst'd and one going normal. i just want to prove a point to my cousin. he will be trimming up that one thats lst'd cuz i definately wont be. but if u do tie em down u wanna do it well before it goes into flower. if its stressed out as its goin in to flower ur yield will be reduced.

I topped and lst'd this year. Tying them down does make'm nice and bushy. i have a few that are 5 feet tall and 6 feet wide. LST will increase your yield. If you start your LST early you can really get some size to your plants.

im sorry mister pickle but i beg to differ... it just makes u get a bunch of popcorn nugs. i think it actually hurts ur yield because ur plant doesnt do anything for a couple days after being tied down where as a plant that is never tied down or topped never stops growing.

Believe what you want. I know what works for me. Lst does work and increases the yield. By tying down your plant yau actually spread out your plant so more light reaches those areas that would normally be shaded. So instead of spreading up, you going out and up . The more area your plant covers, the more you will yield.

that's the beauty of a grow, lots of good ways. Hopefully the best way is the way that you are doing it cuz in your own garden you are the man
