What strain is best for Newbs?

Hi I am utterly inexperienced at growing and would like to draw from the greater experience of the forum. While I am unsure of which strain I would pick, I have narrowed it down.

If I were to grow, the strain would need to be: Hardy (as in plant it, leave it, check on it as little as possible[I'm not lazy, I just dont want to draw attention]); Autoflowering; very low smell; shorter is better.

Please correct me if this thread is in the wrong place, I was torn between newb-central and here.

i've heard a lot of good things about the road runner auto and also the russian rocket fuel one.. dr greenthumbs has a plant that is called an auto although it's truly not, it's called the iranian short season, and is supposed to be the top of the line of the auto world.. the beans aren't cheap mind you, but from what i hear, it's the best of the autos..

im a noob grower and im growing Nirvana's revamped Northern Light fem'd autos, heres a few pics, the LST'd one is 22 days old and preflowering, and the other is 17 days old..the LST'd one had some stunting occur from a previous transplant, its why the younger one looks bigger.
I was looking at the Nirvana NL fem autos, but I wasn't sure how hardy they were. Are you in the us? I ask because I was worried about shipping issues.

i'm totally having a brain fart atm, but if you go over to the attitudes site and put the name in the search function, it will surely show up for you, not that i'm saying that you have to buy them from the tude, just saying that's a good place to find out what the breeder is..

Thanks, I found them.

I don't think the Attitude carries Dr. Greenthumb, so do you know where I could find them?

Thanks for all the help so far guys! A second opinion on the Nirvana Northern lights auto might sell me on it.

Yeah im in the US, i ordered my beans from Nirvana themselves, ive heard that some banks might be carrying the old genetics that didnt auto all the time. But everyone ive heard that has gotten them from Nirvana recently has been really satisfied with the results. I think they are really hardy plants mine have super thick stalks, but i keep a good bit of air on them all the time too..If your going to order them, get them from Nirvana directly.
I've ordered from both Nirvana and The Attitude, as far as shipping, they both arrived the same week, Nirvanas came a little later, but did make it just fine none the less. I don't think you have much to worry about as far as ordering your beans from one of these sellers, give em about 2 weeks to show up.

on a side note..the NL autos from nirvana are a hybrid..and interesting enough the phenotypes can show..if you look at both my plants they are short fat and indica dominate looking..my friend growing one of these beans from the same pack, has a sativa dominate, its taller more spaced out with thinner leaves, but looks great too none the less, kind of wished id of gotten that bean instead so i could have one of each

this guys got some going too and his look pretty good but they are an example of the old batch of seeds that turned out not to auto..but you can see he probably doesnt mind it now cuz he got some extra veg time out of it and has some nice little bushes

personally i just like the description that Nirvana gives to their NL auto and the fact that its supposed to be a double whammy with the head and body buzz

yah, dr greenthumbs is his own breeder, and he's the only one who sells his gear.. he once got pissed at the attitude for mentioning his gear on their site.. i guess it kind of looked like they were selling his stuff, which they weren't, it was just an odd story.. anyhoo's, here's drgt's link as well.. like i said, his stuff isn't cheap, but everything that i've grown from him has been some real fire.. there are a few grow journals on here on his iranian as well, well worth checking out imho..

Alright, The NL fem'd Autos are starting to sound really suitable. I may still look at a couple seeds roadrunner seeds from dinafem, that would be in addition though. And thanks for the link to Dr. Greenthumb's. You've all been alot of help. I think this thread is solved. :)

You simply cant go wrong with white widow! Its insect hardy and easy to grow.this is my first hydro grow and im not having any problems with it at all.I also have smoked some before and i know it will tear you a new asshole lol My biggest girl is a month old but I had root rot(my fault) I let light in my tote and it stunted its growth for a week and a half so Its really only 3 weeks old if you look at it from that perspective. So im a month into it and ready to flwer as soon as my hps light gets here. Its a award winning strain and a favorite among many and when flowered its pretty much the prettiest plant IMO good luck with whatever you choose! :bigjoint:

How smelly is it, like how far away can you smell from? and how tall does it get? in your personal experience.

EDIT: also, what breeder did you get your seeds from?

Have to echo this. Northern Lights are very sturdy and can tolerate a great deal of mistreatment from noob mistakes, I know from firsthand experience.

mine are mostly indica so they shouldnt get huge.and you can control plant height by lst'ing and flowering early.they smell pretty strong mine are still in veg state and my house smells like weed lol.all weed is strong thou.you will have to make some form of air filter if smell is a factor for you.heres a super cheap filter i found and made and it works great! cost like 15 buks.https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/7074-easy-build-diy-carbon-filter.html
and i got my seeds from a friend not a seed bank.couldnt afford them
