oh its garbage is it, funny i have 4 of them uk versions and they are the best hoods i have ever used, i will be buying them until something better comes on the market, but until then, these babies are solid steel construction with toughened spectrum enhanced glass.
not cheap chinese shit with a label thrown on.

i have the 8" versions and i use them with 1015cmh (597.4cfm) fans and 1000w hps and they are ice cold.
take a joint and let the smoke run along the edge of the glass and watch how much sucks into the hood and out. if you are using the hood in a co2 enriched room, or you are using 20+ hoods like i do then you can have a huge smell and co2 leak in a room that is supposed to be sealed. my main point is they have a shitty seal and leak like crazy, and don't kid yourself EVERYTHING is made in china lol

I LOVE MY

Sunsystems blockbuster.

Using a 400CFM fan for only the lighting system i can get my reflector within 1 inch of the tops.

Pics of the reflector and how close to the top of a plant.

PIC of that same plant at day 36 of 12/12

Jondamon,
Couldn't agree with you more. We run 4 Blockbusters in our veg room and they're great. I put the light meter to them and the lighting footprint is very even. The seal is wonderful and they're quite easy to clean.

that was the very first thing i checked after i inserted the lamp, and my magnum had no leaks, if yours did, take it back it, is under full warranty.
i used a white chimney smoke pellet to check the four at the same time once they were all connected and up and running. and i had no leaks.
i used the first one for 2 months and was impressed so bought another three, i have four 1000w hps with the hoods in a 10 x 6 room and the even light spread is amazing, compared to my last hoods which were made by a firm called venture lighting and i had 6 x 600w to get the same even spread.
and the magnums are a lot cooler too.
more space in the hood, less time to heat.

The Blockbusters are perfect for 600 watt lights. I have used alot of different hoods over the years. Including the Easy Cool(still use it with a 400 for just under 3x3ft with ok results)and the Blockbuster is by far the best hood I have ever used....going to be putting a 1500 in it this winter, cant wait............

A hood will always give you significantly better light spread than a tube. The footprints in tubes are notorious for only covering a very specific area. Ideal for small closets, poor for everything else.

Thanks Jondamon & Ifid3L
anyone using a cool tube With 6'' or 4'' a duct busting fan?
Me. Works great. 400W digital ballast with MH if I'm vegging, HPS for flowering (which is always now!).

240CFM duct "booster" fan as exhaust in the attic. Keeps temps withing ~5-6 degrees of intake with just passive intake.

thats very unusual everyone i know with them here hates them they leak so bad. i dont need a big hood for my areas i just use lots of lights lol. i've never heard of someone with one that actually sealed so that is good news.

if you do have a hood that leaks, seal it with a bead of good grade clear silicon, this will seal it, a decent silicon can take very high temperatures and when you need to change a lamp is very easily removed with a sharp blade.
make sure the silicon you use smells of acetic acid (vinigar) if not do not use it.

ya thats wat i had to do with one of my rooms super annoying. the thing i hate the worst is how much of a bitch it is to change bulbs. the lumenaire you just unhinge and its open glass just hangs there the sunlight hoods i damn near drop that glass half the time and lose those damn wing nuts lol such a bitch to do 20 of those fuckers man

*laughs* care to explain your reasoning behind HAVING to use silicon I vs silicone II.... its not a fish tank. by no means should their be concern over leaching, and the off gassing from silicone II is MUCH less intrusive than acetic acid gas.
