You learn, coco and coir is very cal/mag deficient, it needs those cal/mag ions to bring it up to normal capacity and then and only then will it allow the plant to have some. I think you can buy pre treated coco but not sure. Coco needs coco ferts so these should provide some cal/mag. Sometimes there is enough in the water to supply it and you only need run water through it to bring it up to strength. Coco growers need to make sure adequate cal/mag is provided for the whole grow. This may be part of the reason why coco holds good pH for most of the grow as it has a good cation exchange rate and all that cal/mag bound to it makes it less susceptable to turning acidic. Good luck dude, never done a whole coco grow but i have used peat based soils cut with coco and were pretty good. Some say you cannot overwater a plant in coco because it holds so much air in the air spaces between the fibres. Peace

so true just like most dont know u got to ph down rockwool as it is high ph

When you get good you feel good that others make the same mistakes you first made. Makes me feel like i'm glad i'm not begining growing again. I might laugh at the new grower but i'm also as helpfull as i can be too.

Even i make stupid mistakes now and again. Peace

quite the garden
Its ok, still got a few issues but looking real good, i am aiming for 9 plants in a 2.5 by 2.5 foot area with 4 foot headroom. Small 8inch pots and topped with lst for the four main branches, plants are all one week behind the next so almost every week or so i will harvest a plant and put a new one in form the veg room, 2x250w envirolites one blue one red with bathroom extractor fan and desk fan for circulation. Have to leave the door open with lights on to achieve 20 to 25 degrees celcius but desk fan blows across top of plants so little heat issues. Give me a few weeks to get a few more plants in to make it up to 9 plants in total.

Pretty much like the amazon rainforest in there and looking good, wouldn't be that way if not for rollitup, love this site! Peace

Haha, these old thread always come back to haunt be!lol! I like to take part but dont take any thread of mine as fact, i still have a lot to work out. As fot the plant it looks like the leaves are having the green sucked out of them from the tip, it looks to be around the veins a bit but i dont know with that plant, looks hard to tell what it is. Sometimes it just needs ferts or overwatering, could be mag deficiency but dosent your water and ferts have some in? Check out your water and ferts, everyones situation is different. Certainly if you cant think of anything else then try a small pinch of epson salts or mag supplement.

Really hard to tell what the problem is there plus not many details. Peace

haha sorry to bring it up again!
yeh fair enough man, thanks for having a look.
All three of my plants are having the same problem, disaster!

its in rockwool cube, soil and coco mix, havn't really got any ferts except miricle grow lol and i don't trust that to be any good really.
bought some sensi cal mg supplement, annoyingly is has just over 5:1 ratio. i Think i have quite hard water around my area too, gunna start using just bottled.

ahh well will see if that picks it up. Good look with your work!

The sensi veg cal/mag is 5:1 and the bloom is 3:1, two seperate products, even worse. Hard water should have a lot of cal/mag in, find out its ppm first over 400 is bad i suppose 150 to 200 is good, ferts should have some in at least hopefully.

As for rockwool, and coco they come with their own problems, i just grow in soil so cant talk about them but i see coco absorbs cal/mag a lot and rockwool needs flushing or pH'ing before use but i dont know much about that or mixing it with soil. Peace
