The Irish Growers Thread!

i get you harrekin, light only fits 4/5 then thats all i`ll go with, anything so far is estimated and guess work, the practical side is what i`m going to go with, haven`t the experience to go to big to quick. So far with the cfl`s i`ve done ok but there small narrow and not as fruitful as some of the other grows i`ve seen on here, i don`t want to be greedy and cause un-nessasary hasstle for myself, i`m just after cutting out buying, cfl growing got me in the door but won`t feed the habit.... :)

haven`t a notion if its indica or stavia that my girls are there bagseeds, the best one has come on great in last few days pistils are really going now the rest are following really slow but there going,

tried the auto watering with 5 litres of water no nutes mixed, and its worked a treat, so going to use it and see what happens just have to fit it to the room, things are a bit cramped as is in there.

the pc fans are just an idea, i could get a house extractor fan and use that...... i have planned for some changes to be made, keep the ideas comeing dudes i`d like to set this up the right way the first time...
 
To be totally honest,and not trying to shoot your idea down...but you could just spend like €400 for the proper setup from the start.

I only say this cos I did about 4-5 grows in a homemade tent,bathroom extractor,etc...I eventually realised I wasn't gonna save any money cos I had to keep getting bits and pieces cos none of it was "made for purpose" and just bought a proper tent,etc. It's a big outgoing all at once I know,but it's a one off payment for something you can save 1000's on pot with for years to come!

If you decide to go wardrobe I'd recommend at minimum getting a proper exhaust/filtration system...5 inch (125mm) fan/filter/etc will keep your 400w cool and keep your area 100% smell free. If you can go for a cooltube with a proper filter,extractor,etc you'll be proper stealth and shouldnt have heat problems.

honesty approved, where could i buy a cool cube tent and aux , ordering online not being a valid option....

is there a one stop shop? seen a link few pages back would this be such a place?
 
Bloomandgrow.ie are really cheap now and have a number of stores. There's also www.getupandgrow.com/ie (can't remember which is it!) they have 2 stores I think. Ordering online isnt scary tho,unless you order seeds and equipment together. Can't use probable cause if everything is legal and nothing implied (like no seeds with soil for example).

EDIT: Actually I completly forgot...on bloomandgrow.ie Rollitup members get a 10% discount with voucher code ROLLITUP420.

So with their new prices and voucher code a 600w HPS,nutes,cooltube,pots,soil,extractor,filter,ducting and DR80 tent is just shy of €500...a 400w setup instead is about €470...it's tried and tested too ;)
 
be a week of two before i get the rest of the things i need, but i`ll give them a go and see how i get on, looking forward to getting some proper gear and growing some proper buds, as i said earlier the cfl`s worked out ok but not nearly half enough buds, this could be just as it was my first grow and i`m on a steep learning curve but i had 4 20w 2700k cfl`s on each plant vegged for 2 months and still didn`t get very far bud wise, every other aspect worked out great they came up quick, big healthy stems and leaves just poor harvests on them.....

have the last 5 from outside moved into the room today after been on the roof of a shed at work been left to there own devices there big and bushy and have been vegging for 4 months so there might be a difference here with this lot, there all from the same bagseed batch, just germinated 2 weeks after the first lot, so no idea what strain indica or satvia or any of that important stuff, just hope some of them turn out female.......
 
If you dont use a tent, theres all the other stuff you could probably ever need...

yeah there the ones i think harrekin, bloom and grow it is so....

not to be flash as i know that its prob cheaper to order on-line, but as said that not an option have to buy in person..

going to get on this asap tho, veg the next batch from monday on so they`ll be ready for flower as the cfl`s finish or there abouts, looking forward to it now excited even...
 
I bought most of my stuff as I went along tho, and then crossed it off my list. Forgot Easyrollers off that list for hanging the light actually.
 
well the way i have it planned out i can get it together but over three weeks so the girls should be vegged by the time the rooms ready, if all goes well...
 
oh 600 is an option, would you recomend that i just get a 600 and be done, is there much difference in the gardening between the 4/600?
 
from what i`ve gleaned from here maulstrom is to check the pistils, the amount of red or orange in the bud, the more pistils that go the stronger the smoke, but no doubt one of the other dudes with more experience will drop the knowledge on you.....

what strain how many weeks in flower etc? even a pic will help....

It's a white dwarf auto that I threw in my veg plot back in May. It has some decent buds on it right now that still seem to be fattening up - just don't want to chop too early or late and f*ck it up. Guess I'll have to get the magnifying glass.

he hasn`t got a way of magnifing the trich, so he`s looking for another way of when to harvest.....
 
The 600 provides double the light for only 50% more power,the difference is unreal. A 600w would let you do 6 plants,and if you cooltube it,the heat will be the sameish. Iv used both and got similar heat (again ish,if you can dump the air outside the tent) but got sick ass amounts of buds off the 600w and similar quality but much less off the 400w.
 
tried to figure out the dimensions i`ll have today, its looking like 3ft deep, 5ft wide and little over 5ft height. walls and floor will be painted flat white until i can afford the reflective stuff. This suitable for a 600watter?
