Hey there. Any one know why you only suppose to run Canna PK13/14 for a week during flower and not any longer?

Has anyone maybe used it throughout flower and experienced any issues or even great results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On a 10 week strain, I run PK boosters from week 3 to 8 without problems.
Only use it to raise EC about 0.2 or 0.3, though.

Cheers man. I'm doing a 8 week strain and been running pk13/14 for the past 5 days. Just been wondering if I can run it longer than the recommended 6 days. Can't think of any reason why not. They at 4.5 weeks flower and looking really nice.

Canna's Pk 13/14 is outdated now, and was made with outdoor grows in mind, I use canna's entire range but dropped Pk 13/14 and replaced it with Hammerheads 9/18 .. much better :) - STELTHY :leaf:

Cheers stelthy, how long do you use your 9l18? Also what makes it better?

Wish I would have read that before I just purchased mine.:wall:

its all just different ratios of the same stuff. You can make your 13/14 similar to the 9/18 by just adding a K booster. Potassium silicate or something of the like.
It's really all the same shit. the labels tell you what it's all derived from.

That's what I thought. The only difference I think is that the hammerhead might be more readily available in hydro; but I might have the wrong side of the stick.

It's my first attempt again at hydro after a 7 year break from it and there is so much I need to remember. I really want to go get some canna boost, but it is so expensive. Does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives? Don't really wanna add molasses to my tank, any alternatives available in the uk?

Hammerhead pk 9/18 is made of monopotassium phosphate and potassium sulphate. There`s about 60p worth in a 1L bottle ;)

So it seems from everyone's replies that running pk boosters almost throughout flower should be alright. I'll do the same. Any cheap hydro carbo boosters that works a treat? Cheers for the help!

do some research on those carbo boosters.
plants cant really uptake carbs like that. so basically buying carboload from AN is just paying a shitload of money for sugarwater.
I was reading some university study that said foliar application of sugars was more useful that application via the roots.

basically carboload and related products wont help your plants, but they will help microbes (good and bad) that want to live in your reservoir.

Interesting, do you perhaps have a link to the Uni Study mate?

On a different note, your Avatar is disturbing :)

Way I look at it is this way. If the PK 13/14 should be used during the whole crop, then Canna Would tell you to do so, so you would buy more of it. Advanced Nutrients is really good at getting you to use more of their product then needed.

Point taken, but i think It makes sense to run it for longer, just at half the strength recommended on the bottle. Call me stubborn but I don't believe plants only use more P&K during only 1 week of flower.

On a different note, I just purchased H&G's Top Shooter which i'm planning on replacing the PK13/14 with. I've read some good reviews on the H&G line and might give the whole range a try next time. Apparently the guy that makes the H&G line, was also involved in making the Canna, Biobizz and other lines before moving out on his own to make the H&G Line with his family name Van de Zwaan on the bottle, so it must be good!

I used to use only Canna Nuts in my Coco. But I found it would spike my PH within the Coco a lot of times, if I did not stay right on top of it. I have switched to Cyco Nutrients. All I use is Cyco A&B, with Neptunes Organic Harvest Seaweed Plant food. Neptunes is the same as Liquid Karma at 1/3 the cost. With this nutrient line I have never got salt build up and PH spikes like I did with Canna. I used Canna for about 4 Months, (4) years ago, and gave up on it. And then I tried Canna again for about another 4 months just about 6 months ago. I can get just as good of results at 1/3 the cost, and a lot less hassles when I stay away from Canna.

This is just my Opinion. What works great for one person, might not work well for another.

Cheers man, I'll have a look at your lines. The Only time I was really experiencing PH spikes with Canna nutes was at low EC/PPM Values. Using the Canna Aqua range, and the whole range compliments each other nicely and things turn out very stable once you get to flowering. Is your Cyco Range strictly for Coco or a general Hydro Nute?
