yeaa if u do use hermie pollen... make sure to take extra care in protecting ur plant from light leaks...any training (lst/FIM/topping/super/monster cropping etc..) or anything that would stress the plant out... like sum1 else said... sum plants are jsut prone to hermie more than others... and if u use hermie pollen on a plant that already has a higher chance to turn hermie... chances are it will turn hermie.. its deff worth collecting tho!

That is some interesting info.... I may want to stay clear from messing with this pollen. I will have other pollen from true males in the future, I think i might want to wait till then to play plant sex therapist!!! I could gain a little experience working with pollen though. I think i will isolate this plant and grow her out alone.

hey stoney. ur safe till they pop open. just keep a close watch on em. just before they pop cut them and u can open em up and put a q-tip to em then touch ur bud with it. thats what i was told from a frien of mine. hes been growin for a while. so take it as an option. hope this helps ya out.

I think i will put it in an area all by itself. this way i won't have to worry about any accidents and this way i can see how the male parts mature and nt have to worry about the timing of it. i really want to make this a learning experience and not a "time i made a big mistake" hahaha I'll keep ya all posted in what i do with it.

a "hermie seed" will make a hermie plant most of the time.. since there was no real male plant.. u rarely get males form hermie seeds tho.. either females or more hermies. it can be rewarding if the plant is stable enough and doesnt have a history or hermiing.. or howeva the fuck u spell that word... lol

exactly.....typically Stressed hermie's aren't caried over genetically. It's when they do it naturally that you have to worry about it. Fi. When you let a plant grow past the point of chop time, causing it to hermie due to it's near end of life.

Basically since Stoney has a stable Blueberry strain we don't have to worry about it

That is some really good info you guys are spelling out right there!!!!! ALL good stuff!! The blueberry has shot out a couple dozen more male parts today. I tried picking them off. i know this is a never ending battle and i will probably give up later, but for now it makes me feel better. I'm gonna need to keep it another couple weeks. I'm gonna work on another small cabinet to finish her off in.... maybe I'll join the cardboard box growers club... I also have a steel cabinet that would work well, all i need to do is punch a hole in it for a cord and I'm good to go. I also thought about putting it outside for 12 hrs of sunlight and putting it away every night till it gets dark.

I have a 75W HPS, do you guys think it would be enough light to finish the he/she out for a couple weeks? I think it would.

That's what i figured... I don't even need to keep it that close... i just need to keep it alive to mature.... I'm not in a hurry, i just want the seeds brown!!

I'm gonna set it up tomorrow. This will then be my male cabinet to do some breeding later on.

I made the switch from CFLs to the 150w in my closet and it maybe raised the temperature 4 or 5 degrees. I don't think it will be much of a problem at all stoney. Hope you get a ton of nice mature little beans to pop!

That is minimal temp differance for the lumen reward you will get!!!! yea, this has been a great strain for me, so it will be great to have some seeds!!!

good luck with that stoney. i have stressed my blueberry plants with lack of water to much water light leaks and who knows what else. i havent had a problem with hermi plants. my dutch treat hermied on me and i have those seeds.


i will have some milky way pollen soon. i put my male outdoors and will figure out how to collect the pollen soon. one important thing is to screen out all plant matter as it will ruin ur pollen. last year i had a male plant. and when i pulled it i was gonna collect the pollen but didnt get around to it. and i wasnt ready yet. so this year i think im ready to stuff more knowledge into my fat head. ill let cha know how it turns out. if ya want some milky way pollen let me know stoney. maybe we can swap some male marijuana jizz. lol. blueberry wake n bake. god i love it.

Man no lie, I have my 175w MH about 4-6 inches from my plants and I have yet to see a light burn or bleach issue √

Yeah I run my 150 hps just a few inches from the tops but it has a piece of glass between the bulbs and the tops. I was running ten 26 watt cfls in a homemade reflector when i switched temps actually dropped for me. Of course it was 100 more watts burning but im getting about the same amount of lumens.

I haven't tried any breeding yet, I really want to try though. I don't want to use hermie pollen, but maybe some of these new breeds I'm growing will produce male. providing you don't get any plant matter in the pollen, how long can you keep it for?
