they really do dehumanize you in bootcamp. They make it so that when you hear an order you will react and do whatever without even thinking.

I have a few buddies who are marines...and they drive you to the brink of madness in boot camp.

They made him and his unit stand in front of a mirror Look themselves in the eyes for HOURS upon HOURS and repeat "im not crazy you are" if they stopped, smiled, or laughed they would have to start over.

You may think that is nothing or just funny right now...but things like that get to you after a while.

politics and war are always a sensitive subject. we can all agree that dude is fucked up and has some bad karma coming. i guarantee that if we all saw the real inhumanities in war like people in vietnam and even in this war we would be shocked except for those that actually experienced it first hand.

im not reading all these so i just wanted to get in here and well say that after being in the butchering business for 4 years i have seen some worse shit then a dog gitting thrown. i mean every animal i get has to be shot clean and cut up. idk i hope i dont stomp on toes i love my dog.

I did partially blame the military for his actions, although he was obviously one sick fuck beforehand, military training is designed to break a man and turn them into obedient dogs that will kill when they're told to, no matter what they personally think about it. I'm sure there are some noble individuals who join the Army, in fact I've met some, but the majority are morons with no empathy, and no carrier prospects. I can't really think of a war that has been completely justified since WW2, yet people are still willing to be the pawns of the politicians. No other Army in the west has such a bad track record when it comes to human rights abuses, and generally being trigger happy, than the U.S. You have to understand the Army train people to kill, not everyone can handle this responsibly, hence shit like this happens.
