Yeah, Luger, I think it was you maybe that suggested it? I made a screen to block the porch lights from my girls. Now I can leave the light on all night without inviting the whole hood to come check out the yard with no light.

If the light is on all the time it can effect bud growth.

Notice this pics tall bud. It was over the plastic wall and got light all night. That tip of the bud grew really weird looking. Single finger leafs and really thin. Buds below it were fat. IMO a porch lite off and on to let dogs in will not hurt anything. The light that effected this bud was a bright sucurity light about 13 yards away on all night.

The other tall cola on the right got some light as well. But it was farther away.

Yeah, I had a couple girls a couple of years ago that actually reached towards the porch light. I didn't know about the light then. Now it is completely blocked off my girls.

i cant see that pic, but it sounds like that top nug started vegging again. interesting. it didnt affect the rest of the plant at all? did it hermie?

OP, u can also make a shade next to the light that blocks it from shining towards the plants. it depends on the situation though. like if u need to light up the 'right' side to let the dogs in, and the plants are on the 'left', then put a shade on the left side of the bulb. the smaller amount of light that hits the plants will just be reflected light, and not as strong.

or u could just get a green spectrum bulb from lowes and not worry about it

The light gets turned on for a total of 5 minutes a night, no more than that. Also i just started to get new leaves with 3 blades instead of five. i have done some reading up on the 3 bladed leaves and all is well ( i guess) if any one has any comments on 3 bladed leaves that would be great.

how about switching out the light in the fixture to a green bulb? this way you could still turn it on and see half way decent on the backyard and not have to worry about the light affecting your grow since plants don't "see" green light..
just a thought..

I ended up cutting it off for fear of hermy. Revege perhaps for it was growing single finger leafs. All I can say is the light did effect it. It was the only buds in derect light as you can see.

I added the pic. I could not see it all the time as well.
