who needs help?

Haha. Yeah. So, I read a few people knocking miracle grow. Is it really not that good? How important are neuts? I got Miracle Grow Potting Soil and the package claims to feed for 6 months but I couldn't find the NPK values of it anywhere so I'm kinda at a loss. I know for the beginning/vegging I need more N than anything but when flowering comes about I need like 15/15/10 right?

Where do I find these neuts? I can't find em at walmart. Should I look at lowes/homedepot? How big of a rush do I need to put on buying them and how much will they cost?

@King. I just planted em today in little solo cups, clear, and I put maybe just a tiny bit of water because I didn't want to over do it. Like a tablespoon. Do I want all of my soil like damp, if so how do I get the soil at the bottom wet without overwatering the top?

Seedling soil for seedlings and flowering/allpurpose/pottingsoil etc etc for veg and flower. No 6 month feed miracle grow is not right for marijuana, but normal soil. Peace

Normally you would first water the soil, then put the plant/seed in. So its already wet & to avoid as you describe, having to over water.

Just buy regular soil and when there bigger put them in that. Soil will probably have too many ferts in for seedlings but its done now so see how they grow. Peace

Id say just water the soil till its all wet then leave it be, there are drainage hole in the bottom? and by time it sprouts it will be needing a water a few days after. Peace

Yeah, I cut holes in all of them. =D

So not damp but full on wet, obviously not mud though. Gotcha. I appreciate everyone's help. =D

Here's another question. All this talk about neuts specific methods and the like. It's a weed, it'll grow anyway but this is to make higher yields and quality, right? Or is it vital that I follow some of these procedures for any such measure of success?

The more time and effort you put into getting decent Nutes, Lighting, Soil. Will determine the Quality & Yield of your bud. You can get a plant to full term using miricle grow and shultz ferts from walmart but your MORE likely to run into issues & it will be harder for people to diagnose them due to the fact the "cheaper" brand items are not widely used among the RIU community. IMO

So in other words, you get out what you put in

Gotcha. So next time I need to get plain old topsoil and add my own neuts to it. Which I can buy at lowes or something. As far as lights, I'll probably buy two more of the same next paycheck.

Neuts aren't required until vegging, I think. So i have some time for that. If I may ask, how many oz do your plants produce on average? And given that you know my setup, how much do you expect me to get?

without nutes a plant can die.it depends alot on the soil if you use a plain soil with no nutes eventually the soil will run out of nutes as the plant sucks them up.if you use a good soil mix you can go a long time before nutes are needed.but i prefer to use them but i dont start them til the plant looks as though it needs them.in time you will be able to tell when your girls need more food

I saw someone with a thread that basically said you can clone by cutting off stem and put it in a cup of water with nothing else and it'll somehow take root? This seems more appealing to me because I don't have to buy a rooting/cloning compound and they're likely expensive, but what are the odds of success with this method?

How risky is it to purchase seeds online?

you can buy a packet of clonex cloning solution that works really well for 7$ Its enouph to do 50 clones. A 50 pack of rapid rooters is another 20$ and so is the clone dome
Start up cost is about 50$ if you already have cuttings.

Thanks Munch.

I just planted today though. So it'll be a while before the cuttings come into play. Enough time to save.

That being said, I'm using bagseed at the moment, should I buy seeds online instead? Any word on the risk involved with that? I'm over-paranoid as it is.

get some clones from somebody reliable, and keep the strain going. You can get cseeds, thats a good way to go too. I have order seeds from both europe and canada without any problems. Make sure you order from a seed bank with a really good reputation, seeds normally take about 1-2 weeks to come in
