1st grow room 22"x24"x45"

Hello there,
so I'am setting up 1st growdrobe, size is 24" wide, 22" deep, and 45" in height. I need it to be really quite, just one exhaust fan on 180m3/h, active carbon filter on 175m3/h, and for air income i wanted to use just non return valve, which is only sucking in air and not letting out.
So what about lights in there? I want to grow 2 or 3 short strains, about 60cm average height. Am i going to be ok with 250w/hps lamp. Or it's better to get 400w/hps, i'am afraid of heating, because i will take in air from the same room where it will exhaust.
In winter it's gonna be pretty cold, will 250w/hps do the job?
Thanks a lot, trying to figure out this for about 3 days now, headache!

For that size of room im sure the 250w should be plenty. Ur gna have to many heat issues with the 400. Im running a 400 in a 42x22x72 and the temp stays at about 83-84 with no AC on and about 78 with ac on. Im also using a 180 cfm exhaust fan.

Just saw u live iin the cold so u might be fine with the 400w but the 250 is plenty for what ur doing. I would go with some sativa strains and LST and top them to make them fit ur space. Check out my grow in my signature

I am not yet a grower, but the average I've seen online is 50 watts per square foot. You have under 4 square feet so a 250 should be 100% sufficient.

Do you know about the screen of green method? check the forum for 'scrog'

I know about this method, but i have already short strain seeds, so i will learn it later. So i'am ordering just right now 250w/hps kit with reflector, digital ballast and bulbs + carbon filter, i'am so excited omg.

I think they have adjutable ballasts that work with 250,400 n 600 (correct me if im wrong) so if ur planning on getting a bigger light in the future I woulg suggest u get one of those ballasts

hey do you know people suggest starting with a different spectrum bulb before you switch to the HPS for flower? veg needs blue, bud needs red, and HPS is mostly red. i don't know how important that is for small rooms, but i found a site that will give you a free 250w HPS if you get a 250w CMH. CMH is ceramic metal halide, it's supposed to be better than either MH or HPS but a lot of people say HPS gets bigger yields. point is, for 50 bucks you can get a CMH for veg and an HPS for flower!

hey guys, such a nice community, in other places i was waiting for hours.
so i got already today 250w hps and mh lamp, and also ballast for those. so it seems to me that i will grow with those mh and hps lamps, don't wanna buy new ones.
thanks a lot guys, it's gonna be sweet!

I'm going CMH too, but I've noticed a lot of people online (and one person in real life) saying that CMH for flowering produces better quality taste and high, but HPS for flowering produces a bigger yield. I think it's because CMH more closely imitates the sun, but plants are used to a higher ratio of red spectrum light during flowering, which is mainly the spectrum HPS produces.

I'm going to try to mix them for flowering..
