PH meter

I was going to buy a PPM meter later on during the grow because everything was a bit expensive and the ppm meter seemed like more a luxury item.

Anyways now I need to replace my PH testing kit because it sucks balls. Regular GH testin kit with ph down and ph up.
PH 8.5 and higher Blue
PH 8.0 Green
PH 7.0 no so dark green
PH 6.5 yellow green
PH 6.0 Yellow
PH 5.0 Orange
PH 4.0 Red

Im trying to do a coco grow and this meter is fucking with my head. Every time I water my plants I start to get paranoid that im going to get some PH lockout.

Aiming between Yellow and Orange is more advance then I thought. Except that .2 difference could mean the difference between stunted growth and a thriving happy plant. .2 could also mean the difference between hermie and female.

Are the 5$ PH meters on ebay worth it?
Also whats the cheapest PPM meter I could get, that will work well?

your ppm and ph meters are not luxury they are necessities if you expect to grow good cannabis. I went thru your stage that you are in now with the drops and the half filled vial. Get a ppm and ph meter from HTG Supply for under $200 and you will not be disappointed. you need these more than you need nutrients.

PPM isn't too important for me because im using RO water. And I can basically measure the ppm content of the nutrients with a teaspoon. I see what your saying though. Ill get one soon.

:hump: ya have it all figured out huh? Good Luck!
Could of used that luck, my PH meter is a peice of shit.
I had to calibrate it, left it in the water for 10minutes and it went up to 8.9 in 7.0PH water. Calibrated it to 7.0, then had to calibrate the 4/10 in some 4.0PH water, peice of shit won't go down past 6.0.

Anyone know what malfunctions with low battery? Does it still read accurate close to empty on battery life? Maybe it just fades out with low batt...
