PreHarvest / Checking trichs

When you use magnification to check trichomes for 'readiness', do you remove an entire bud from the plant? Also, what part of the plant is likely to be ready first...the top most exposed buds? BTW, my plant is an outdoor bush. Alot of the buds are buried deep inside the foliage. Does it matter that they don't get direct sun exposure or doesthe sunlight hitting the outside leaves feed the interior buds? She's just starting to bud but I'm planning ahead!

Look at buds on the plant, dont take them off... you have to check trichs several times, if you take one bud everytime you will end up with nothing :P

Some species mature from the bottom up. And some species from the top down. Don't just look at one feature to determine ripeness. Look at them all.

Great advice dannyboy! I have a ghs bubba kush that the lower buds are almost done and my cola probably has at least a week to go or more.
