azatrol safe for plants? can it be used 3weeks b4 harvest? does it need to be rinsed off after treatment abd if so how do you rinse it off

I am depending on other 'Professional' growers on here myself.. some are spraying 4-6 weeks into budding.. Also, this is the product the growstore had recommended as well. Most my plants are a 2 weeks into flower now. My early bird is 4 weeks now. I am still finding mites here and there... not widespread, but they are still hanging around.

Use mighty wash. I know its hard to believe but it really will cure all your issues with mites.. You can use as much as needed even on BUDS, its simply water. Just make sure it dries good if its on some dense buds.. Otherwise no worries.

I agree with RawBudski in that Mighty Wash is a good product. There is not that many things you can do when the plants are in flower and you care about the end product being medical grade. The Hot Shot no pest strips are good as well as neem oil and all it's derivatives. I've heard tobacco tea works as well.

Mostly the error around mite control comes from two things;
1) the laziness or oversight of the grower not being diligent in a particular control and it's application. (spraying under the leaf)
2) the reliance on one type of control. (this causes mites that survive to develop resistance to that particular control)

Personally, using three different products (with three different modes of action) in rotation has worked well for me. - for infestations, an application every three days to kill newly hatched eggs and for prevention, once a week.

You have a classic error in your statement:

This sounds like a grow shop salesman talking.
I don't have a problem with controling mites because I stopped making the mistake of controling them,
and decided to erradicate them.
Why start a war with mites if your intent is to control them. To me, that's just unnessessary added cost.
All it does is makes mites mad, and growshop salesmen happy.
Although you do make valid points if you decide to only control mites. Prepair for a lot of time spent
not tending to plants needs but rather fighting mites.

OK, spider mites still around. On my redwood kush in particular.. damn leafy plants. The sativas are more easy to deal with.. I opted to try some rubbing alcohol tonight on one of the kush.. if it dont die.. lol... I will use it on the other kush I have going. Thinking ahead... I dont really think it is possible to totally erradicate mites in an outdoor garden.. particularly when you have a vegetable garden going as well.. and a back yard full of plants and roses.. etc etc.. all you can do is manage them. In a controlled indoor environment, yes. Outdoor.. no. Hot shot strips.. maybe if indoors. Plain water.. mites back in a couple days.. If it takes simeply walking into your indoor grow with contaiminated shoes.. how in the hell can you control it outdoors. In a suburb like I live in? so I will try mulitple treatments. Done with Neem. Flowering from 2 to 5 weeks in process. I think Asatrol/azamax a neem product. Sprayed alcohol tonite.. will do other plants soon if sucessful. Next stop is nicotine/tobacco tea spray. aint gunna spend $40 gallon for mighty wash if I can help it. It would take over a gallon just to do one application on my lil personal grow. ouch. So far managing it just fine. Very few webs. Did notice a very few in the kush buds a few days ago?.. that worries me.

YEA IAMGMAN your are correct I might have been mistaken as oi thaught this was an indoor infestation. Good question i mean i didnt know or could i figure out where i got those mites as i have quite a vegetable and herb garden as well. Kinda sucks when you dont realize that you have been unknowingly infesting your most valuable garden all along just by walking in and out of your own home BUMMER!!!! oh well live and learn but im glad to say that i have changed the way i go about tending to my garden of glory. Now i wash change and nobody is allowed to wear shoes in this old boys house ( not worth it!!) Oh and they are gone but I definately feel for ya as far as outdoors I wouldnt even know what to do ..... Keep me posted id like to see what happens. OH!! by the way my girl and I were discussing why i like to talk to people on RIU and not my facebook. well I told her I could have as many friends here as facebook. Well she dont think so . Started growing 20+ years ago but only got on the forums recently. Dont have a grow journal on here.. just my problem threads as I learn to deal with these bugs outdoors at low altitude. Still have mites. But they are tolerable. Found a web in one of my thick a$$ kush plants.. and generally a bunch of leaves effected by them after coming home from a 4 day hiyadious labor day weekend. Sprayed 1 to 3 70% rubbing alcohol monday nite. Tuesday nite found multiple living mites... but the wifes lil grow thrives on! I will keep on attacking the mites.. on a budget. Azamax was like a fortune for a pint of the stuff when I checked the grow store. Next stop, nicotine tea which I have seen multiple recommendations for. I boiled about 100 all natural american spirit butts tonight in a gallon of water, including the filters. Screened it through a old t-shirt to avoid plugging my high dollar $7 Home Depot hand sprayer. It came out pretty dark. Probably due to the tar that is also included, of course.. Anyway. Tomorrow I will spray parts of my plant with probably a 1-4 ratio of my 'Nicotine Tea' w tap water. Afraid to somehow phuck up my plants with something too strong.. so I wont spray all of anything. I will post back in a few days to let ya know how a po' man battles mites... now for some eye candy of one of the wifes big 'uns...

I don't know how big your garden is but what are the chances of using some sort of clear plastic tarp to cover them for a few weeks, greenhouse style, and trying the hotshot no pest under the tarp? It still might not be as effective as hotshots are indoors but might save a bit of time and money and be as effective as the high priced sprays?

Homemade greenhouse in the works. Definately before the rains come. Good idea to try hot shot once its enclosed.

Not doing might wash due to cost and fact that I will have to repeat.. so looking at alternatives, lower cost. did the rubbing alchol. 1:3 ration with water. soaked em.. living mites the very next evening. Put my first application of tobacco tea this evening as indicated in previous post. Mixed that 1:4 since it looked so strong. Will report back. Before the spray this evening.. I could see multiple living mites on various leaves on my redwood kush, and light damage to flower leaves here and there on the sativas.
