Subcool, or Ohsogreen - I noticed that you had you’re ac in the grow room. I have a 10x10 insulated shed that I wanted to close off a 4’ x 5’ area for blooming maybe 3 to 4 plants and use a cabinet to veg in. I want put my window unit in the main area which is 10 x 10 and set my exhaust on a thermostat that will pump air out of my 4 x 5 which will pull air through the cabinet from the main room that is kept at a constant 70 degrees Fahrenheit. (The 4x5 and the cabinet are all in the 10x10. the cabinet is a workbench base and the 4x5 is what appears to be a closet in a small work shop.)
Questions
1. Is this a good idea?
2a. In the winter time I have an electrical consumption concern being my window unit pulls 4000 watts to heat, how much heat is expected from a 1000w hps? Could I heat the 4 x 5 area with the light, keeping my exhaust to a minimum?
2b. what is the maximum time between air replenishments need in the 4’ x 5’ to keep my carbon dioxide at natural levels, with the canopy filling the 4x5 area.
3.Are you familiar with a product called Galvalume, it is an alloy of galvanize and aluminum that is used as wall sheeting. I intend on polishing this to an almost mirror like finish for my walls floor and ceiling. The product that I have is 29 gauge metal material, that is very corrosion resistant. Will this reflect enough light?
4.Is 7’ high enough for my ceiling to grow white widow in ten gallon pots that have been toped several times in the veg stage?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you for all of the education you have provided thus far. I don’t think you can learn in a year in horticulture school what you can learn in a week of reading your threads.
