and ya the mylar(not tin foil!) which u can get cheap at drug stores or camping stores or walmarts or whatever for like 3-5$ in the form of space blankets and they r pretty big as well, are very helpful because it makes the light be used for a more effective period because it bounces every which way until its toasted... it just makes it so u donmt waste allllllllll of the light

yeah seeds r a big question mark for the first week if u just plant them because they take longer to pop up... i think ill throw my lights on 13/11 tonight when i get home at like 1030?

Nice.. 13 hours dark is working well for my plants. Even my 24oz bottles are on 13hrs dark. If i had autos or naturally shorter plants i would probably give it more light.:leaf:

Inducing Sativa

After many years of first-hand experience breeding herb indoors as well as outdoors, I am of the opinion that the two most influential factors involving phenotypic variation and expression among current indoor herb breeding projects are the photoperiod (hours of light per day) and the angle of light in relationship to the growing plant.

Specifically, I find the single most powerful influence to the Indica dominant phenotype is the traditional 18/6 veggie cycle and 12/12 flowering cycle. The 18/6 veggie and 12/12 flower cycle is an attempt, however poor, to mimic the Indica-producing photoperiod. It is my belief that this light cycle strongly influences for Indica phenotypic expression.

Sativa phenotype characteristics will manifest under a more equatorial photoperiod, closer to a 13/11 veggie cycle and an 11/13 flower cycle. This is the light timing range to use to elicit more Sativa dominant expression from your plants.

As for the exact photoperiod formula that I incorporate into my growing/breeding regime, this will presently remain a trade secret. My advice is to experiment with different photoperiods, keep good notes and pay attention. Avoid the 18/6 and 12/12 photoperiods, while tweaking the times a bit differently with each breeding cycle until more desirable results in the finished product and their offspring are noted. Here's a hint: work in half-hour increments or a little less, and good luck!

i found a couple thrips on my leaves so i sprayed with neem oil and then put in my dark ass garage to let it dry and get some night time... tht might be my best bet for the light schedual,,,just ut in my garage at night becasue it isnt as hot in there as my room

That's a sign of the malignant egg trollosol. Melt butter @ medium on your stove and spray around plants for optimum protection.

what exactly have the infection? the bugs or the plant? becasue that revolves around eggs and plants dont really have eggs there... and thrips r bugs... and they r common. neem oil is the bug spray of choice and i gave it a nice spray down... what will this infection do? do u have any links to guide me to information becasue it seems this malignant shit is a cancerous egg defect? has no plant reference?
i dont want to go and pour butter aound my plant and wreck eveerything with salts and calcium and whatnot? there were just a couple bugs on te leaves leaving the snailish trail thing and it fixed it i hope

well that tying down of the limbs in my pictures is what it is... all you do is tie down or prop down the lower canopy to grow horizontally then eventually vertically so you can get light to more areas of the plants.

Your plant has an infection within the plant. It needs to be cured by doing what I said... If you do not heed my word your plant will slowly deteriorate.

can u just give me a link of what it is?!?!?!?!?!? thats all im asking so i can believe u more... ur the only person to ever bring this up and i never found any links of planks gettign infected with this!? waht are the signs of this infection?

and when i look up malignant egg trollosol its not even spelt correctly! so y would i listen to ur word with no links or anything if u didnt even spell it correctly?
