The laws in the state of OK are set up to fill the prison system. Call your reps and let them know how you feel

There certainly are days when it's hard to stay in bed with the people you agree with fiscally. I can't stomach this bullshit. How the hell did it pass 44-2? Are there really only 2 politicians that saw fit to oppose this? Where were the Dems, there has to be more than two. I'd be interested to know the affiliation of the two dissenters.

Yup, they were Dems. But there are 16 Dems in the OK Senate, what gives?

Saw this a while back and it's still shocking to read.

But hey, at least you get to fuck your sister in Oklahoma :hump:

this is what happens when you privatize essential services like incarcerating law breakers.

the private enterprise starts to lobby lawmakers to fill these 'hotels' as fast as possible.

STATUTORY AUTHORITY
Title 57, Section 502 Definition. Title 57, Section 561-563 of Oklahoma State Statutes authorizes the Board of Corrections to contract with private prison contractors and public trusts for the operation of a prison.
Title 74, Section 1001 et seg. allows the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to contract with county jails for the housing of inmates. Title 57 O.S. 1991 §561 permits the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to contract with community based facilities for housing community corrections inmates.
we don't need government, let a private facility handle it... lol

when you need harsher sentences to guarantee demand, you lobby the legislature to impose harsher crimes. when you have enough money, the legislature does as you wish.

if the sentencing guidelines defined by law are harsher, there is a larger chance of people staying in jail, or there being greater demand, increasing profits.

money is free speech, hoorah!!!!

Government is the one doing the convicting and handing out the sentences, how you missed that part is beyond me.

Are judges part of the government or are they like the shop owner who sells justice?

Newt won't win or get the nomination and thankfuly the media hasn't given him a whole lot of love but just the fact he's on the stage and had introduced a bill that would give the death penalty for marijuana should be enough to scare the shit out of people and have people questioning just what kind of people we have running the country.

Does anyone else besides me find it ironic that republicans want,

1. Less Government
2. Less regulation
3. Less Debt
4. Less Spending
5. No "free" healthcare
6. Anti-Abortion

But yet, they will give you LIFE for making bubble hash! If a 21 year old is arrested and is given a life sentence, he will end up costing taxpayers (If he lived to 70 and at 20k a year, not including inflation over the next 50 years!) HE WOULD COST THE GOVERNMENT OVER 1 MILLION DOLLARS AND HAVE FREE HEALTHCARE!

Well that is fucked up of newt, but I mean, to be a little over dramatic you could say that Obama and many other politicians support the death penalty for marijuana, It is a death sentence to people just because it is illegal, people are constantly being killed and their lives ruined over this plant that grows naturally. It is murder, why not go all the way like Newt! Newt knows what the establishment wants and feeds on it, Great Marketing skills lol, of course that is why he was the speaker.

Legalizing cannabis would essentially save the people, the environment, and the economy, the problem is that it would be a huge blow to the corporate powers that be. They can't market something that grows for 300$ month TOPS unlimited supply for a family of 5 lol, they can't exploit us on this one, unless it stays illegal.

Don't take the fake conservative globalists and project them as representation of an entire group.
