a future oriented thought about hemp....

keep in mind that hemp fields involve lots of pollen... which essentially means that everywhere within 5-10 miles of a hemp field cannot grow seedless high quality sensimillia.

so remember if you do vote for hemp bills... try to think about the zoning. I say areas like northern california shouldn't grow hemp since they can grow such good cannabis buds. this is something that I think a lot of people are overlooking and it really needs to be payed attention to because it could make outdoor bud impossible to grow in many areas of northern california.

yeah..... thats even worse... see I really don't think they should even grow hemp in california...

I think they should grow it in states that can't grow bud very well in comparison.

and its going to take we as a people spreading this knowledge so we can collectively stop any bills in certain areas that essentially make outdoor growing impossible.

I think they would treat pollen from hemp like they do pollen from corn. Sweet corn can get cross pollinated when planted too close but that's one of those plant at your own risk things. Green houses could help with a lot of it also but there's really no way other than like you said about zoning farm land away from residential growing areas.

yeah... my fear is that corporations will get involved and not give a fuck about cannabis bud growers.. and get hemp fields popped up where ever they can. that's why I want to inform people that if you are for hemp you gotta be smart about it.

if I had a choice between growing my dank ass buds and having hemp fiber in california, I'd pick dank ass buds 1000 times over.... let another state grow that shit. california shouldn't waste its time...

I would think that if/when it becomes legalized that the great plains states would start growing it in place of corn as hemp would be a higher cash crop, I may be wrong though.

yeah we /would/ think a lot of things about the way they'd regulate something... but often times they don't consult us for our opinion ya know ;)...

I mean in a perfect world.... a lot of things would be different. since we're not in one we gotta write our own terms and stick to them.

i read an article that said-

way more than 15 miles.
Seems like a small price to pay, compared to the many benefits of hemp. Not only should we be using it for pulp for newspapers instead of pine trees, it's better for making clothing than cotton, makes a great building material when compressed into blocks (self-insulating, termites hate it, lighter weight than concrete blocks) And, a good source of ethanol, better than corn.

Hemp is probably the most genereous plant on Earth. I figure, not everybody smokes weed, but everybody would profit from the widespread use of hemp. Wear it, read on it, build your house out of it and fill your gas tank, too.

that is not a small price to pay at all.

do you know how many places in the US you can grow hella high quality outdooor bud? we're talking you can count these places on 2 hands....

now count the areas you could grow hemp?

20+ states.

now explain to me WHY is it a good idea to ruin outdoor bud with hemp when you can grow it in far more areas than high quality outdoor bud?

it's not like indoor bud is the answer to that so don't even kid yourself.

I'm just sayin.... california alone can grow enough high quality cannabis to supply the needs of the entire nation. we don't need to grow hemp here when we can grow it in just about every other state.

It maybe their idea to limit outdoor crops of MJ with a work around like hemp fields. Its quite clever really. If they cant make it illegal again, ruin the crop with worthless hemp pollen. I read a post many months ago that bacically said the best way to ruin outdoor crops in Cali would be to drop dirt weed pollen from a plane. I thought it was kinda funny, but the hemp bill seems very similar.Sneaky Bastards!!

Hemp was a valuable, versatile crop that got the propoganda shaft, no doubt. When we hear about hemp now, it's usually by pro-cannabis people who are using the hemp platform as a way to backdoor cannabis into being legal. Personally, I could care less about hemp products. I'm for cannabis the mind-altering drug being legal. The medical cannabis platform is also sort of a backdoor way into making cannabis legal (that's how booze got back into the culture during prohibition). Again, I am not that interested in medical pot. If it works for people, great, but I'm not knocking myself out fighting for it. What I would fight for is the right to grow a certain amount of personal pot (say 3 plants for rural-people, 2 for suburb-types who own (not rent), and 1 for apartment dwellers. Rent payers and apt. dwellers would have to prove, if growing indoors, that they were "up to code" in terms of ventillation. This would massively reduce the drug dealers with guns contingent. Shit, right now I don't tell people I'm growing pot, I tell them I'm fighting crime.

don't get me wrong... I love hemp and hemp products... I think hemp is the most useful plant on earth.

I just don't want it grown where it is unnecessarily ruining better cannabis sensimillia crops...

heres what im thinking, much of the high quality outdoor pot in california, is grown in the northern california mountains, if im not mistaken. this doesnt seem like the most ideal place to have feilds of hemp, farmers are gonna want a large area of relatively flat land, also my thought on hemp pollenating ur crops is this, mexicans, alright so these mexicans come up to our state forests to run there poluting commercial grows, that are ever increasing, these thousands upon thousands of plants in the state forests, would have just as good a chance to pollenate the quality grows as any hemp feild, and personally i think the two can exist together, i think pollen can travel relatively far in an open enviroment with little obtacles to overcome, if the pollen has to make it through thick brush and trees, the distance it travels is going to be dramatically shorter

idk up where I live there's a valley in between all the mountains...

and we grow some of the meanest pot on earth in this valley...

they could grow hemp here too... that's the basis of my fear.
