Thx for the comments guys :D

I'd love if you popped into mine and did the same thing C indica.
Highlife, I love the idea of using 2liter bottles as humidomes, did you come up with that?
Way back in elementary school we made green houses with 2 liter bottles. Its working great. 100% success rate and still going.:D :leaf:

Edit: Have to get another fan. Had the hps 8" away, now some leaves are showing signs of heat damage. Moved the light to 10" and am leaving my box open during lights on till i get another fan.

your getting heat stress from 8 inches away? my pant is within 3-4 inches of my bulb, not the reflector and isnt showing any signs. only fan i have besides exhaust and intake is one at the top trying to spread some heat around but it isnt pointing at the bulb.

what are your intake and exhaust fans like? (if any)

I dont have a exhaust fan just a fan blowing in. Its a stand up fan and sense the plants are getting taller, the air circulation is staying to far down, witch i need also. I will go buy another fan for the top of the box next week. The heat stress was from a fews days ago. The tops that were effected, were probably 5" - 6" away from the light. It sucks how most symptoms take days to show.

very easy to wire a pc fan to a external power supply such as a plug for a old router, telephone, speakers etc. anything that is 12 volt can be hooked up to a pc fan, would recommend a 120mm at least as a 80mm most likely wouldnt exhaust enough without being hella loud. need help / diagram pm me

This thread is great inspiration, thanks for sharing!! I'm gonna make an attempt to mimic what you did with the ropes at the bottom, seems better than tying the plants down since you get better airflow? Regards from sweden

Thx :D.. I have a high cfm exhaust fan i could use but its pretty loud. I have a big whole in the top for the light, it does a pretty good job of letting the hot air out. Going to walmart today to get a fan i can hang, to have more air circulation up top.:leaf:

Your welcome :leaf:.. My air flow is great by the "stalk", here are some pics. A couple show how the strings are.:D

I took the domes off my clones the other day. The lower 3 are the clones and the other 2 are some shitty seeds i sprouted. Cant wait to see how they grow :leaf: They wont be topped or lst'd and will stay in those24oz bottles.:eyesmoke:

great pictures thanks man! do you start out with a lot of ropes and pull the branches down as they grow or do you add more ropes along the way when it's needed? maybe both?

Both. I had most of the lines in place. Then i just wove the plants through them. Once they got larger i had to add a couple lines. :leaf: I mainly did it to reduce vertical height. It did a pretty good job, plants are at 26 1/2" now and its growth spurt is over. I will try to keep it under 30". In that 18gal bin without the lst, those plants would have wanted to grow at least 6' tall.:blsmoke:

I have no doubt you'll have an amazing yield! Just goes to show, fox farms and all that extra stuff is not needed. Nature with a little bit of tampering can do just fine.

Yo I notice a lot of sucker branches in the lowergrowth.

What size lightbulb are you using?
View attachment 1761278
This chart uses 5000 lumens as their cutoff point.
I'd say you could go for 3000-4000 lumens.
But the point is any and all branches that haven't reached the cutoff point are stripped.
Now if a branch has just barely made it to the cutoff, then cut off all of it's side branches, and leave the top. It will turn into a good nug.

See in your pictures of the string, there's little half inch branches everywhere? Some of them are even a few inches? Remove shit like that below 3000-5000 lumens.

Awesome. thx. Great info. I was looking at the plant today. There's a lot i can clip off. I hear people say to clip and not to clip. I might just try cleaning up the bottom third or so. Thats a chart is great btw.

I kept my tops over 5" away from the hps at all times but there are a couple leaves on one cola that have deformed tips and the leaves are folding up long ways. That cola was closest to the light, pretty sure its heat damage. There's rust colored areas on the damaged leaves also. So, i'm not 100%. ill try to get some pics of it.:leaf:

All the branches that grow in that weak 1000-2000 range are just going to look like week 1 buds at harvest time.

I bought a new fan, and some cool little scissors to do the trimming, they are a lot easier to work with. I trimmed the bottom 1/3 of the plant. I must of cut off 30 more clones :D, tossed them though. There is some more that probably can be trimmed but i think i will just let them go. Here are some pics i took earlier :leaf:
