The Fish Thread

A couple more from last Sunday.

oh man what a place to be fishing at. that view in the 1st pic is just breath taking. i need to get up north some time and do some fishing.
and is that the wife landing the fish?

and im glad to see the thread has picked up speed in only 1 day

very nice day of fishing i see.
and do you fish for the cats at night? ive heard that they are a good fish to go after at night

They are good for setting trot lines at night but no, we went out around 4 and we were so sore from fighting the bastards we bailed at 7.

i caught a 5 pounder largemouth today on a 7.5 inch fake worm..purple and black with glitter flakes in it...caught four 2-4 pounders same type of worm..they are the shit...zoom makes them and they are cheap..after 2 fish the worm is shot though..texas rigged em...friend i was with caught a 17 inch crappie on a spinner bait

If you ever find tiki wave worms......give em a try. I've caught a dozen bass without changing worms before, and they are incredibly effective.

I order them online from bait shops, they are always putting them on clearance cuz they change colors every year, they always have a bunch of fucked up colors, but they work. I couldn't find a fish pic but I caught this one on a 5" fat tiki that was bright pink.

i never, ever have much luck with plastic worms.. i've got a few nice sized bass by rigging a worm in the center on a jig, damn, i forget the name of the rig atm, damn stoner that i am, but other than that, i never seem to have much luck with plastics..
i use a ton of rapala sinking and swimming minnows that work wonders.. fish around here go banana's for them for sure..
the biggest bass i've caught had to have been an easy five pounds on a yellow spinner like the one that fdd'ed posted back a few pages ago now.. they work great on cloudier days..
top waters work great on early morning, clear days ime..
and who ever asked about what to use for big fish, big baits catch big baits.. ever see those swimmer baits that they use strictly for lunkers?? damn things are the size of a nice sized trout.. i have never used them as up where i am, 5 pounders aren't all that common really.. i'd be missing all of the fun of catching those 2 and 3 pounders looking for that one lunker..

Tiki Wave Worms are win! The biggest bass I ever caught I got on a 4 inch worm straight tiki stik.

i threw an 8 inch swim bait all morning. i had a MONSTER follow it up to the boat. she took a little swat at it then slowly swam away. i'm seeing a 12 pounder in my near future. :hump:

nice.. and yah, i've seen dudes fishing right next to me using worms and killing it.. i'd put the same worm on my shit, and not a damn thing, lol.. not sure if i don't have the action down right on them or what.. i do know i don't have much confidence in them, and sometimes that is what makes all the difference in the world..

different places require different baits. ive used plastic worms in one lake and got nothing and used spinners, rapala minnows and other things and caught them on that, and then tried a different lake and it was exact opposite. if they see something that is not normal to them they are more cautious.
