This is Skywalker OG Kush at 6 weeks.


Yesterday was Day 42 for the OG (Day 35 for two of the OG), and Day 32 for the Madagascar. I am still one step ahead of the mites and the PM - but I am nervous. 13 more days seems like an eternity away! Hellraizer - I am looking for the MightyWash - thanks for the suggestion.

The weather has been warm this week (as in perfect for mites! haha). The humidity also dropped - and I let my room run dry and hot one night. The following night I found PM on the stalk of an OG and a spot of PM on 2 or 3 leaves... I sulfured the following day when the lights went off. I followed that with a good fungal/bacteria balanced tea feed (AACT).

They got their peak feed at 42 days last night...

  • Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Soil
  • Liquid Karma
  • Organic Sweet (yellow bottle)
  • Humboldt Honey ES
  • HN BigUpPowder
  • Home made compost tea - from worm castings, bat guano, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, Liquid Karma, and Grandma's Molasses
From here on (as long as I don't have a blow up of some sort!) - I will taper off the feed strength this week and begin my flush at 50 days. At this point - even if a mite or PM explosion occurred, I could chop it down and still have a nice harvest... so I got something for sure!

The Madagascar are at 32 days and absolutely problem-free! You gotta love this strain... This is the real 'Tupur'. It's gotta a SnoCappy kind of taste I don't really care for - but it also has way more complexity and a scent all it's own. You can see how she grows OG-like with plenty of room between buds and a small leaf to bud ratio. It is extremely resinous and medicates you nicely - the trim routinely pulls 20% via butane resin extraction (Often times good bud will not yield 20%!). For those interested - the OG trim is close to 25% return.

Madagascar is an excellent strain that very few people have. She grows much like OG (she has Kush in her), but smokes in a Hazy way. She can yield 2 lbs under a 1000 watt light; yeah 'Tupur'!


The Madagascar sits on the floor at 32 days. They make working in my room difficult, but I think they will be worth the hassle.


Is it larf or is it bud? Even the small nuggets of OG under the canopy manage to finish into decent smoke - if you can keep them from falling over. Like a Pornstar with big fake baloons, OG is a very top-heavy strain.

wow love the skywalker!! got a question, not saying its bad just wondering about the stretch look cause height is a issue for me.
and im loveing the looks of it!

From the start, I knew I would have height issues. This batch was really stretched out when I got her - they were left in Solo cups under weak T5 light for too long into their teens... but the growth you see from the trellis up is standard OG stretch. It is a stretchy varietal - but once you work with her, you learn to love it. The stretch can be used to your advantage - but you really need to be mindful of height and respect her 3 - 4x stretch! I prefer OG over all other medicine - for me, it is perfect for ALL occasions! I suppose OG is harder to grow - she is certainly the hardest plant to root that I have encountered. She seems prone to PM (it is a cut only strain and this trait is likely in the DNA of the original OG male). But once you get her on a cycle of your own - you rarely see PM or any problems when working with her routinely. I give true OG the highest marks. I hope you don't let her stretch dissuade you! Try it you'll like it - try it you'll love it!

awsome lion in other words the good OG s are there clone only types ugg how the hell can one of those be got, im shure from a underground
source but how do you know its 100% what its to be? plus dispencerys aint in my aera or even close and if I could travek to one would I be
able to trust even there cuts?

Nothing from seed companies is real OG - though there are some lovely crosses out there that do the females justice - they just aren't true OG. Many people are working with real cuts of OG these days and you will get your hands on it eventually... From a trusted source it still fetches 5K, or more, as mother material - but again, the genetics often trickle down through the hands of countless workers that help tend the numerous OG grows throughout Cali... You will probably not be able to tell by looking at clones - just keep trying 'real SFV' strains from any source you have, being sure to save one in veg state for the time you hit paydirt: real OG. Once you get about 5 weeks in - you know if you have the real deal - that Chemy, funky OG, character is evident at 30 - 35 days, and that familiar OG stature should be well formed.

As an option to getting the cut: Many of the OG cuts out there are likely to have come from bag seed. Can you even get OG? Sometimes people have the real OG, but they bunk their grow and it goes herme... while this smoke is not great, seeds from such OG have potential. Viable OG seeds are more rare in properly cultivated OG and finding one may be difficult. First off - do you have real OG medicine available in your area? If so - the genetics are likely there too... If not, it is just a matter of time.

yah I got alot of family there and im from northern cali, but im light years from there now :( and theres no OG anywhere in my area:(
im shure someday but not yet. and the market in my area is such a buyers market that nobody would sell it if they had it. im not into
the selling market just meds for me and family! so im not in the underground loop. il look into family from cali but Ive got no clue how
to transport it :(

you should think about putting those lights on hangers so you can raise and lower them. they wouldn't stretch so much next round.:blsmoke:

Thanks for the suggestion - but read my thinking on the fixed light height on page 2. The fixed light height is a conscious decision. You can save a little stretch by keeping your lights closer and fussing with raising them every day - but not much with OG. OG just stretches! I have been working with the Pornstar for years now, so I have gone many rounds with keeping my lights ultra close too. I still do that when I run open hoods such as Adjust-a-Wings that are easier to raise and lower. I have OG outdoors too - and she stretches the same.

You're right - light is the engine, but I have found I get bigger and better yields with a fixed light height when running air cooled hoods. The benefits to the atmosphere and the increased cooling must make a difference? I no longer burn buds from those unexpected 6 inch growth spurts either!

Thanks again for the suggestion - and taking an interest in my zone!

I know a guy who stole the original Strawberry Cough while visiting and judging the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam back in the day... he brought this tiny cut back in shampoo bottle.

you gotta love thos OGs. check my journal in my sig if you get a chance it is also a full OG grow. I also had SFV but bitch went hermie on me so i killed that strain off. But it did pollinate my favorite pheno of my OGRE OG so i should have some nice OG beans soon myself. that skywalker is swelling up real nice
