I have my room in my basement. It's locked up down there.

But, we have a heat wave today and I'm running about 85-88 as it right now. I'm afraid she's gonna hit 90 down there today.

Here's the deal though. The wife and I are going away for the day so since nobody is in my house, can I leave that door down there open as long as the rest of my house is locked up, it would still be in a locked enclosed facility right??

If I do that my temps will stay below 85 and I wont have to worry..

yes-

i think a low court has even ruled, your property, is an enclosed locked facility.

Thats good. I think while people are in my house though I have to have it locked up down there which is no problem. I just dont want to fry them..

I need to get a duct fan pretty quick.. a carbon filter too ;)

if you had a dimmable ballast you may dim the setting down during heat waves so save on electric and also decrease heat.

i recommend SolisTek digital ballast because they have ignition control features. i run 6 of these in my grow, best ballast i have used hands down. and no i am no rep for them. just educating about whats good shit. BLAH

I have a 600w dimmable but youre not supposed to dim a 600w MH, I guess they recommend putting in a 400w bulb...

show me some proof sir. in fact i was under the impression that putting in an incorrect wattage would be MORE harmful, rather than save you from any detrimental factors.

Edit: I have a Quantum ballast 600w dimmable, i kept my temps around 78-80 at 75 percent power for the last couple days.

your manual for your ballast? ...why then would they even add such a feature? see my confusion in your logic - but beyond that i know my ballast manual says never ever to put the wrong size light in it. this makes sense to me.

your lamp acts like a resistor. A 400 watt lamp will only pull 400 watts from the ballast. Just my 2 cents.

Worked for me sprouting this year. Only warm place was the top of my ballast. Plants grew up into reflector.
