hi all i'm having some heat issues at the mo this is a shit diagram of my grow room (H 2m x W 1.5x L 1.5m)
i had the fans bringing in cool air from the outside and venting the hot air just outside the room ive swapped this around and its a little better.but not good enough i was vegging 24/0 but had to drop it to 20/4 to let it cool down a bit(33-36c)
would i be better to have both fans extracting and cut a couple of passive intake vents in my grow room door?
any help cheers ;-)

A 4inch fan is NOWHERE near enough to exhaust a 600w hps aircooled hood.

You need at least an RVK150A1 460m3h to exhaust your hood.

IMO buy the fan above and have it connected as an independent lighting rig.

So you would have the vent in the top of the tent ducted to your hood then ducted to your RVK150A1 and exhaust out of the room.

Have your Carbon filter ducted to your 4inch fan exhausting out of the tent and out of the room.

Keep your 4inch intake.

you need a bigger fan as jondamon said, either the turbo 6inch which is 700-800 m3h or an 8 inch which is a little bit more
4 inch fans extract much less its too small

also in your drawing you have the inlet and the outlet on the same side, that's not correct

you want the inlet air intake coming in at a low level where the cooler air sits in the room also position it at right angles 90 degrees to the outlet where it is sucked out, this forces the extractor fan to move all the air from one side of the space to the other bringing in new air across the plants and removing all the stale air from the space,

the way you have it, by the looks of the drawing the extractor fan is removing the clean air you are bringing in straight away, leaving the stale air in the room .. so put your extractor vent high up on 1 side of the room. and your air intake low down on the other side of the room at ground level , use floor fans to mix all the new air up at ground level and blow that up into the plants, but not to hard as to make them flap about too much, that damages the leaves :)

cheers for the info
skunkd0c sorry for the shit pic both fans are mounted as close to the ceiling as poss as is the filter its in a small utility room with a door totally sealed i have ducting from my intake fan right in front of plants blowing cool air on them and the hot air of the exhaust is vented outside

jondamon your grow room looks very similar to mine i just wish mine was upstairs so i could vent to my loft my first grow was in soil now in coco prob go wilma like you next time
better get ordering my bigger fan from 3ch then
cheers

Much respect to Jondamon, I've followed your grows and very nice!

But I must say that I have 4 600w lights and 4, 4" inlines and they do the job just fine. It's not solely the size of the fan that matters it's your "ambient temps + fan size." At least for non sealed grow rooms.

If you can not control your ambient temps your screwed.
If you can control your ambient temps + small fan, your fine. <-- Like me.
If you cannot control your ambient temps + biggest fan in the world, guess what.. Your screwed and out of money! lol

Growing great cannabis is about creating the best environment, and inline fans are only a very small part of it. No disrespect to anyone.

my first grow was feb to may this year and i had one 4" inline and carbon filter and one bathroom extractor(intake) and a aero wing hood not air cooled and the temps were a nice 27-28c lights on and about 22-23c lights off i guess its just a bitch growing in the summer even here in the UK

You got it!! In order to grow year round most need some sort of air conditioner in the summer. Be glad you live in the UK where you only get 17.35 days of summer. LOL.. Joking friend!

But really I hate growing from May 1st - Sept 1st. I can control the temps, but my bill is out of control!

I hear completely what you're saying, as a fellow UK grower i commented on what works for me without using AC and running lights on during the night.

your intake needs to be lower than that, also you might wanna try using the extraction fan on the hood with NO inlet feed, i use mine to cool the lamp and suck out the smell , i just dont connect to the other side of the fan .

Keep bends to a minimum.
