600 watt HPS cool tube grow (White Rhino;Master Kush)

I actually have my seedlings in FFOF now....but my first grow attempt with it had terrible root aphid problems...then I red on RIU that they did a test with it and literally saw Aphids crawling out of a the soil straight from the bag.

Seedlings and FFOF isn't a good idea in the first place :P

They seem to be doing just fine...I grew them for 5 days in peet pods, then transplanted them into the FFOF. I even fed them a little FoxFarm Plant Food Liquid Fert....they seem to be doing great!

Hell yeah, as long as they're doin okay you're doin it right xD I've just always heard FFOF is bad for seedlings, but if they're already over 5 days old before you put em in there that's probably why :P

FFOF is not recommended for seedlings, however i have yet had a problem starting em this way myself. However i use light warrior and it works very good/

I've used FF Happy Frog for years with no problems at all. I didn't like the mix or the price of the OF half as much.

I always mix in some of this to keep the soil from compacting and to aid in drainage:

And a little dolemite lime will help to keep the Ph of your soil in check over the long-term.

I do have to say though that I really think you need at least a 6" in-line fan and ducting to even begin to try to keep your temps down in that tent. I really don't think that 4" setup is going to swing it for you, unless you're in a cold-climate area. If you've never grown with high intensity lights (400w+) you'll be surprised how much heat they put off and how fast the temps rise. Heat will kill you if its not addressed immediately.

well we can see how it does this fall...I live in the south. We have fairly cool temps for most of fall and all of winter. I will be growing several crops doing this time period.

Here's some pics of my little ones. They were put into soil 10 days ago. I have them under a 600w mh in FF light warrior

Those are some mighty large pots to have transplanted into...It is going to be tough to control the moisture of your soil and making sure you don't over/under water those seedlings. I say before its too late...grab pots that are much smaller and let them grow into those first before transplanting into your flowering size pots. I transplant a total of 2 times for every plant. I start in peet pods, then transplant to 1/2 gallon size pots, then my second and final transplant into 7 gallon pots or even 15 gallon depending on the strain you are growing. Good luck and have fun!

I always use these pots for seedlings. I transplant like 3 times. I know it looks crazy but this is my tried and true method. You know the old saying...if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Thanks for the info though.

Well, props to you then. If it works then it works. you have prob grown very accustomed to the way you transplanted so many times, and know when to water and when not. Hell yea to you bro. Keep me posted.

Just updating you guys on my little ones. I have just recently topped all 4 of these ladies 3 days ago. How you think they look? One of the Master Kush tipped over by accident, but it happened right in front of me so I uprighted her and she seems to be doing alright. She has a little tear in one of her leaves, but I think she will only be stronger for it.

These fine young ladies are at 3 weeks old from sprouting out of the soil...
