Direct Sun or Indirect ?

Im trying to find out....My 4 babies, 1 is 3 Mos old and starting to flower, are outdoors. I Do have an indoor light. I understand that a 12/12 light cycle will induce flowering. Is this meaning 12 Hrs of DIRECT Sun ? 12 Hrs of ANY daylight?
looking for clarification please.....Thanks !

........................... 12/12 is for indoor. Plants start to flower outside in August for the most part, well if your north of the equator lol. Try G O O G L E for that simple of a question it will even pull up results from here! It seems you have ALOT more reading to do on growing outside, reading you should have done before you started.

Yeah they'll start at 14/10 some varieties outdoors, so it's not direct sunlight. The basic principle is this: As soon as light hits the plant it kills the "flowering" hormones. So the more dark they get the more they know it's time to flower. The reason people do 12/12 indoors instead of say 10/14 is because the light does still affect growth.

in nature the days shorten slowly, the plant will have noticed that way before getting to 12/12.

that why it sometimes starts at 14/10 outdoors. just got a strain that likes to play it safe.
