can you veg a plant for too long? like theoretically speaking could you put a plant in a very large bath tub (lets say 50 gallons) and have 10 hps lights at your disposal to put where ever to light all sides could you veg it for like 10 months and make a mj tree?and had the capability to water it fully and perfectly with the perfect amount of nutes and the perfect soil to use

I have a friend who was lucky enough to plant one in the Earth and had perfect spot for it. (SoCal) Ended up looking like those trees in the picture. :D

not sure i follow u. your mother grow plants, thats awsome so does mine.
yea & if you hadn't been taking clones off that plant (the mother) then you would eventually end up with a monster plant. Plus mother plants i've seen that are worth keeping are always years old.

From the research that i have done, i have learned that its not good to keep taking cuttings off of second generation clones third and so forth. They can start to form genetic defects and get weaker with each generation..if you do decide to go that route you can still clone off of a clone, but wait 2-3 generations later before you clone off of it again. Example: you have a good mother and clone 4 plants, those 4 plants grow a crop and you clone 4 more off of those 4, one from each....you would have to mother one of those clones in order to keep the strain strong. I hope that that makes sense, please correct me if im wrong.

you have to select clones based on 'vigor'.. its a genetic reproduction so as long as its a healthy cutting that shows good signs of growth and nutrient uptake, it will make a suitable mother..

Will the genetics eventually taper off with consecutive clones from cutting to cutting to cutting?
