Where to get mother plant?

First post here, after WEEKS of research :-?

Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can get a mother plant in either san diego or los angeles? I have heard of a few clubs selling them, but I cannot seem to find any. Yes, I have been looking pretty hard. If you know of any that stock them and would let me know, that would be great.

While i'm at it, do any of you have a recommendation as to the most effective way to grow on a limited time schedule?
Long story short, I only have 11 weeks to complete an entire grow...damn school schedules. It's going to be my first grow, and I realize I won't be able to get the full potential out of it with that limited time, but at the very least at least i'll take some knowledge out of it.

I figure the best way to maximize my yield in that amount of time is to:
a. acquire a mother plant, and take clones from it then use the sog method as it will only require ~1-2 weeks of rooting/vegging, and that'll leave me with enough time to flower. I like this cause i'll probably be able to get quite a few clones from the mother. Hopefully I can find a relatively quick flowering strain.

My other option is to:
b. Just buy clones, since they're readily available, and then only veg them for 2 weeks. I'd buy 5 clones since they're pretty pricey, and my space is about 2'x4'.

Setup is basic ebb&flow under a 400w hps, and I have some 27w cfl's to get the clones going.

Thanks for any help, appreciate it!

I am going to a place in Los Angeles called Progressive Options... Look it up on the net... I was looking ofr Alien OG Moms, They did not have any but tell me they have Tahoe, Larry, and super OG moms as well as a bunch of different strains... I will let you know tomorrow what I find.... Also Cloneville in Studio City has some teens right now....

Thanks man, that's just the kind of information I was hoping for. Def let me know what they have, if anything good i'll have to head down there tomorrow night.

And dumpster- I hadn't even thought about autoflowers, i'll have to look into them more.

The good news is that you can use any plant as a mother, when it comes down to it.

You just have to be willing to grow it out ;)

Just buy clones, you only have 11 weeks? You don't have time to take cuttings and root them and get any real veg time on them in my opinion...Better off just buying some good clones from a legit source.

Yeah, that's why I wanted to get a mother, since then i'd hopefully be able to take many clones and sog'em; possibly flower them as soon as they're rooted.

But I know you guys are much more experienced than myself, so i'll probably be going with pre-rooted clones from a club. I was leaning in that direction anyways :)

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, if you're stuck with an 11 week window, I wouldn't try cloning for a SoG for my first time growing, what if something goes wrong with the rooting, then you could be stuck with not having enough time to flower...Might as well go with rooted clones or even some teens if you can your hands on 'em...

Went to Progressive Options yesterday.... Well they came through..... They carry clones. teens, moms and seeds..... what I picked up looked healthy... But you can tell the nutes are a little light.... They are located in Pacoima..... They say they open at 12:00 but the door didn't open until almost 1:00 closed Tuesday and Saturday.... The staff is very knowledgable.... They take forever to return emails.. If ever and I have never got a person on the phone... always says mailbox is full..... It is definately worth a trip....
