Plant issue not recognized. Anyone familiar with these symptoms?

Well I am growing in JAcks Classic 1/4 tsp/gallon every other feeding, FFOF, 400 watt HPS, RO w/ Cal/Mag+ last feeding, good temps and airflow. The only thing that might be off is the humidity.

Only thing I can think of is the nutes are either too strong or too weak. Never had these symptom before in all my plants. Maybe one for a short while but its been a couple weeks and they seem to be growing slower. I have flushed 2 of them to see if it changed anything, but nothing notable.

i don't see anything wrong except some twisting of the leaves. could be a ph problem, which might explain the correlation with the nutes usage, probably too low. are you checking?

Yup... Ph is spot on. water/feed is about 6-6.2 and the run off is about 6.5. It's not really twisting like I see with a real PH problem but its a kind of narrowing of the new growth and a serating of the new growth. It looks alot like heat stress to me but my temps never go above 81 and are usually more like 78

Also, Jack's is designed to work with a limed soil and tap water. You might want to re think the RO and cal/mag.

I am not sure that Jacks is specifically for "limed" soil because of it's (lime) very slow solubility but you could be right. I do agree however, that it is designed for tap water. I can't use my tap water because it's 1200 ppm and a PH of almost 9. I have no choice but to use RO. That's why I have dosed them once, so far, with cal/mag.
This is the first time I have used FFOF soil before and haven't had my plants new growth look like this before and I never use lime.

What do you think the symptoms you see in the pictures say?

My tap is like 6.8 150-200 ppm it varies a little but it's great.
About the twisting how big is your pots how tall is the plant?
Possible root bound? Far as your nutes never try Jack's I only
use fox farm nutes with ffof! My expertise is with fox farm

pots are 3 gallons and they are about 24" tall no rootbound. Will be flipped to 12/12 next week. But I just want to know what people think the problem is..... if there is even one.

Wetdog I have exactly same thought about tap water with lime on it too...its more like missing of trace elements from RO water even with cal-mag....

Could it be to much cal/mag, I was reading high levels of magnesium will stop the up take of manganese which causes deformed new growth and very light green leaves.
I'm having some new growth on a few plants growing deformed and leaves curling down after my recent res change and have been reading older posts on this topic and found that info. I know I was running 1/4 strength c/mag in the sauce before I changed the res and now I'm running full strength and seeing concerns, I added 5 gallons of 31ppm water to the res to dilute last night and I'm still waiting on results.

This upward cupping is some type of issues. It maybe an issue and then again it might not I had something similar and they grew out of it when they went to flowering. Weren't do anything too drastic

You gonna upcan before flower? 3 gal might be a bit small after the stretch and all. YMMV

I think it was just the Jack's and the nutes in the FFOF. Not really a problem IMO, especially as they grow more.

Your plants looks at least 2' you know their going to be 6' tall or close to it~my closet isn't that tall I flower at 16-18"

Only thing I see that's a bit "off" is the new growth is a little deformed.

Iron def. Causes yellow new growth, and molybdenum (sp?) Def causes deformed leaves.

How often do u calibrate ur ph meter? Mine needs it weekly, cheapo 40$ meter tho.

I think the missing trace minerals is a good guess.

Overall, they look good, maybe try some liquid karma.

i was checking the jacks classic anaylsis out....looks like the missing trace elements are calcium, magnesium, sulfur, chlorine, cobalt, nickel and sodium...thats why tap water have those trace elements. but right now its nothing serious from your plants

maybe you will try to give a run with tap water to see how it will turn out ? please dont take my word for granted, just my thoughtz. happy growing.

Maybe I will run a 50/50 tap and RO for the next week and see how that goes.

I don't think I should have much micronute defs because the FFOF is only 2 weeks old in anyone of those pots but who knows. I only use a liquid PH dropper for a rough estimate.

Winds I use 1/2 tap and 1/2 distilled water cuz mine is like 600ppm from the tap.

U will have to dilute it even more, probly 3:1

i would use some of your tap water because it has trace nutes in it, it will probably solve the curling issue too. the upwards leaf curl is either heat or manganese deficiency, if its only at the top i bet its heat.
