Pandora's Box, Querkle, Dairy Queen in Super Soil

I have the 8 bag kit and love it. The 73 and 90 always come out full melt. depending on the strain, I have made full melt out of the 45 and 120 as well. Using Subcools method, the 160 and 25 micron bags are def worth keeping around for tincture. I usually save mine up until I have enough to make a big batch of taffy or jolly ranchers, I plan on doing some glycerin tincture in the near future. Looking forward to your harvest shots.View attachment 1503854View attachment 1503855View attachment 1503856
You're making me drool with those hash shots Stabone. I'm glad to hear the hash tincture works well for you. I've had it from an MMC before and it is good. What ratios do you mix (grams hash per ounce of glycerin/alcohol), and how many drops per dose does that make? The way I make tincture now is always an adventure. I basically eyeball the solution to see if it looks strong enough and try to get around 5 drop doses. It would be nice to have a more precise method...

Hola Rollers. I was just poking around some of my pictures from this grow and realized I never posted the harvest shots. Things got pretty crazy around that time so I snapped the shots off but never posted them here.

Before we get to the porn, I'll give a quick "review" of the strains and phenos. Don't get your hopes up too much on the reviews. I'm not going for any award-winning essay here. BTW - I didn't measure anything so I am guessing on weight based on how many jars I got from each strain.

I'll list these in order of my favorite strain then pheno and explain why.
1) Pandora's Box - I love this girl! :hump:
Not only was the PB my best yielder (probably about 4 oz), but her buzz is exactly what I was looking for. A nice upbeat high that glues on the permagrin. For an added bonus, the buzz really does not seem to have a ceiling - and the resistance to tolerance build up is very high. I've made up some really tasty hash/vodka/glycerine tincture with all my strains because that is my preferred method of consumption. Pandora's Box is the one I reach for just about every night when I get home from work. Last, but not least, she's my wife's favorite strain so I get no hassle for leaving grow gear laying around the house.

2) Querkle 2 - more Indica dominant of the two
Another strain that puts a smile on your face. Q2 was definitely the smallest producer (maybe just under 3 oz), but she delivered the Indica buzz I was looking for. Actually, it is a little more euphoric than what I was hoping for - not that I'm complaining. I like a strong knockout Indica to help with occasional insomnia. Q2 gives a nice body buzz, but the mind starts out too happy to turn off and go to sleep right away. I haven't noticed much of a tolerance build on her. In fact, I had to hide a small jar of her in the back of the closet to keep from smoking it all up too soon...

3) Querkle 4 - slightly less India dominant
Q4 is far from being a Sativa, but she is not as strong of an Indica as Q2. This is the bud we always turn to for a late night joint when we want to stay up a while and watch a movie. A little more upbeat that Q2 but still has that great taste and body buzz. I'm guessing I got a little over 3 oz off her.

4) Dairy Queen 1 - more Sativa dominant
The DQs are both pretty close in profile. DQ1 is a bit more upbeat and her rotten Gorgonzola cheese smell cured out to a smooth smell and taste. When I first started smoking these strains, DQ1 was my favorite overall. I like the mellow, pleasant high that you just can't be upset when you're on. Unfortunately, I seem to build a tolerance to both DQs pretty quickly. If I stay away from it for a month or so and then take some vape hits I get that great buzz that I love. Yield was between 3 and 3.5 oz.

5) Dairy Queen 2
DQ 2 is a bit more laid back but still just as pleasant. I've made a lot of this into tincture. In fact, I re-vegged this plant and gave it to a friend who also has a card. He planted it outside in his garden and it is looking good! I'll post some pics of that beast a little later. Yield was a probably around 3.5 oz.

YEA! Those shots put me more in a mood to enjoy some flowers of this plant more than just about anything I can think of for a long time. Cheesequake session inspired by beautiful pics of dank commencing in 3..2..1.

I've gotta go huff some greens just to quench my thirst, too...

Medshed, you owe me a keyboard, dude! ::wiping drool from mouth:: Thanks for finally posting these. I can't wait to crack some of Sub's seeds for myself. So what was your favorite strain from this run? Was the Pandora's all that we'd thought she would be? :peace:

Nice man, glad to hear it. Looks like I know which beans I'll be after.

So you got a grow going right now? Or are things all tied up for the summer. . .? I know the temps are going to start dropping soon in B-Town. . . perfect to get your next grow underway if you haven't already!

I don’t have anything going at the moment. My outdoor space is full of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. My kids go nuts over tomatoes and cucumbers so I can barely keep up with their demand.

You are right about the temps getting more favorable. I just put some seeds in rapid footers in my basement plant nursery (which doubles as a drying room. I'll start up a journal on that grow once things start to get interesting. It will consist of Jack The Ripper and two World of Seeds strains that are supposed to be landrace Indicas - Ketama and Afghan Kush. I haven't found much info on the WoS strains so maybe I can help fill in the information void. I was attracted to them for the CBD content and (hopefully) sleep inducing narcotic stone. I used to run a cut from a friend who called it pure Kush. It looked similar to Afghan Kush and had a great narcotic effect. He lost all his mothers in a landlord dispute that ended with an emergency move. I really want that plant (or something similar) back.

That sounds awesome, man. My veggie garden will be in full effect over here this next season. Can't wait for my own tomatoes/cukes!

Lemme know when you start that next journal. I'll be there for sure.

Enjoy the weather. I miss this time of year in Boulder. :peace:

It won't be long until the new journal starts up. I've got 3 out of 3 JTRs above ground and 1 out of 2 each on the Ketama and Afghan Kush.

Bobotrank - how long you been away from Boulder and where did you land? PM me if you don't want to say in the forum...

Hola Rollers! As promised, I've got some shots of the DQ2 I re-vegged and gave to a buddy to put in his garden. For the record, I tried to re-veg all the plants from this run but this is the only one that made it. It was my first attempt and I think I let them go too long before switching back over to veg mode.

She is a beast. She was topped once to make 4 heads and then staked out to keep her from growing higher than the neighbor's fence. I don't know the person on the other side of that wooden fence, but the two neighbors with chain link fences who can see the plant are cool.

Well, that's about enough of a plot line. Let's get some p0rn rolling!:hump:

This girl is ready to get the hatchet. My buddy conveniently went on vacation for two weeks so my wife and I are left with harvest duties. Mrs. Medshed is quite handy with the trimmers, and she actually likes to do it. I've got less finesse than she does so I do the rough cuts and she does the final trim. Much of this crystalline Queen will be turned into hash for tincture (and smoking).

Lookin' damn fine, Med. That DQ is a beast!! :weed: :weed: bongsmilie

My wife is handy with the trimmers, too-- puts me to shame, lol. She's got years of it under her belt, though. It's how she used to make her $$ as a kid back home in Hawaii. I guess I can thank her mom and dad for that.

So what's your favorite strain of Sub's that you've grown thus far? After all the great genetics I've seen here on RIU from him, I'm ready to hop on board already. It was painful buying those Pandora's last year and having to hand them off. Worse that the person who has them still hasn't cracked them. D'oh! :peace:

Thanks Bobo. I hate to rub it in, but Pandora's is my favorite so far. This was my first run of TGA gear so I know there's lots more dank to be revealed. Stay tuned for the JTR on my next run. If my timing works out, I'm going to try to squeeze a second harvest out of the shed this winter. For the second run I'm thinking of trying out the Apollo along with some Kali Mist. I haven't smoked the Apollo but the description sounds like my kind of kind. Kali Mist is one of my favorite sativas but I haven't grown her before.

I like the clear-headed, upbeat, happy sativas. I am fairly sensitive to anything that induces paranoia. Hazes and I generally don't get along. I probably wouldn't grow the JTR for myself, because of the Haze influence, but I think Mrs. Medshed will like it.

That back yard has got to be smelling nice! If ya don't mind me asking, was that plant flowered naturally...or did your friends throw a dark shade over it every night? I am always so paranoid about light contamination but don't have much outdoor experience. I did one small vortex this year....but putting shade cloth over it every night was a little to much work...lol. I am also excited to see what you think of growing out the Kali mist. Seeds come from serious/Simon?

Ahhhh, so it really is, is it? I thought for a second there you mighta just been being nice lol. Looks like I'll be going back to buy my second set of seeds then!

Kali Mist is a great strain. Only smoked it a couple times through a friend's friend's friend sorta deal, but man, that is jam fuel. I hear ya on the upbeat Sativas-- those are my favorite daytime smoke for sure. Gotta keep the groove going through the day, and indicas do NOT do that  That's why we smoke 'em at night!

I'm sure whatever you're growing over there it's gonna be something Mrs Medshed likes. Mrs Bobo doesn't hardly smoke at all. Just a little Romulan now and again when the cramps get bad. I guess growing up in a family of stoners, trimming weed since you were 6, and now dealing with ME is enough to keep anyone away from the whacky... except for her brothers-- they could set records for the amount they smoke.

Have a good one, Med!

I've never had problems with my outdoor plants reverting back to veg, and they were just outta direct light from a neighbors back porch. Unless you can go out and see the leaves clearly due to the contamination, you're probably alright.
