Question on the curing process.

Hey guys whats up, i had a quick question. I see everyone using air tight jars for the curing process. Is it wise to use the jars, or can i use something else thats air tight. Like for ex. Tupperware or something haha. Im new and just curious if i only should use the Jars. Thanks.:blsmoke:

It does not have to be jars but glass jars are just the simplest and best container to use for most people I think.
Since it gives you several advantages over tupperware or plastic containers.

They are durable, long lasting.
You can see your bud through the container and you can easily determine if something is wrong within the container.
Most glass jars (with seals) are very close to completely airtight, much more so that plastic containers.

You can easily use other containers though, don't feel bound to use glass jars with seals.
It's just the 'top of the line' option if you will.

Exactly.
Also some say that plastic containers effect the taste of cured bud...But I have never tested this. Glass jars aren't too hard to get. :P

I have seen posts where people felt the tupperware left a different taste to the buds so I have always used glass..

Thank you very much guys, i was just curious is all. And you serious about wooden box's? Ive never heard someone doing that. Whatcha gotta do?

My rolling tray is a little box and I leave the extra on it and close it when I'm done rolling.
Keeps it fresh for a few days, I don't know about long term though.

I think glass is going to be your best bet. Plastic and wood will both lend their flavor to your bud otherwise.

Depending on the type of wood that may be desirable, but most likely unless you cut the wood yourself, it has been treated with chemicals that you don't want leaching into your bud. Same goes for cardboard. As for plastic... have you ever found some buds in a plastic bag that you forgot about? 3 months later you find it and give a puff and it tastes super funky almost like some poured cologne on it or something.

I would go glass.

Im saying this once more , air tight wooden box's are awesome, better than any glass and cures quicker - i have done both - Glass jars will work just fine, moisture held for longer though and some report bud rot , wood somehow brings out the flavours, try it once. thats plain wood untreated , Markets are best places to find them.

I got my Mason Jars from KmArt, about $7.99 for a case twelve!! They got all sizes... also they give mean "Bag Appeal" to ur top shelf as well!! When you pull out the jars and look at the face of the person in front of you, makes me smile!! Lol

where would one obtain wooden boxes large enough to hold 30g of material? anyone?
i like the idea and would try it if i could find the right box.

glass wont absorb trichomes, tupperware will. Sure you can cure it in tupperware too tho but it will lose some of its trichomes.

Ahh ok , i have not come across any that Large , i think they hold about 15g in each , but i have always bought mine in places like car boot sales and markets, plain wood is easily bought and made into an air tight box , im going to make 1 and post instructions over the weekend.

try your local cigar store. odds are they will have a stack of cigar boxes in the corner for sale on the cheap. a lot of the time they will just give them away.

Please do I will look for it. I like the whole idea of wood.
