Worth keeping?

Hi there,

A friend of mine who just moved overseas gave me this "present" last night.
Do you think it's worth investing time and money into it? I have been wanting to built me a grow closet for a while now but I am not sure if I should start fresh or if this plant might yield something.

All my friend ever did was let is sit by a window and water it every now and then.

Thanks for any advice

if that was mine, id definitely give it a shot. you got a decent sized plant already that seems in decent shape. try growing it and clone it and you'll save yourself at least a month of work that it would take to sprout seeds and grow them that size. definitely put it in a bigger pot tho.

I am already looking for soil types, pot sizes...
As for cloning looks like I have more reading to do. ;)
Great site by the way, lots of info it's a bit overwhelming

it looks like a keeper id clone it and force the clone to flower to find out the sex not much point keeping it if it turns out to be male

Yeah definately keep it! If its a male you get some growing experience, if its a female you get some growing experience plus bud = ). Looks like it needs some nutrients tho ...unless thats ya flash reflecting off waxy leaves...

its worth continuing the grow if it turns out female,,if its a male or herm then get rid and start from scratch....peace

i think all fems are worth keeping man... they all produce bud..

get it under decent lights and you will see it grow nicely..

good luck

Bump.

So after doing lots of research, I build a closet (big thing for me I can barely put a nail in the wall without serious injury) I bought a Kit HPS 250W, bigger pot, fans, testing kits, nuts. I think (not sure but the plant is doing rather well)
I just started flowering and switched from 18h/6 to 12h/12.
I had no idea this would be so much fun. my camera sux and I can't get a good closeup shot but I am fairly sure it's a girl! http://www.weedfarmer.com/albums/male-female/male_female_cannabis.jpg

Very happy with my new hobby, and will order some good seeds soon .This is a practice plant but even if I get only a J worth I ll be a very happy man.

Thanks for all your help and this great site that answered 99% of all my questions.

awesome, looks really good. If you just started flower it's a bit too soon if it to start showing sex, that usually takes about 2 weeks. But some times they do show early.

Did you wind up clipping any clones?

Thanks for the kind words, I did 1 clone and forced flowered it, it did show some pistils but my cat thought it was catnip :(

yea, I've had that happen. 2 weeks in one of my cats ate all the leaves off one of my plants. Thankfully she bounced back and she's actually the strongest of all my plants. But hey, if it is a girl, one is all you need. Take all the clones you want, she looks plenty bushy.

It is rather bushy but it suffered from streching from before, I ll just see where this plant takes me. I am really looking forward to buying some good seeds and growing those instead of this misterious bag seed that started it's life in ficus pot...
Reading your grow journal right now, good work :)

I was thinking about buying some seeds, but for the amount they go for, I think I want to wait to get a few harvests under my belt before I do.

Thanks for checking out the journal. Please feel free to comment as frequently as you'd like.
