My house has been going through landlord remodeling for 3 months already and still in progress. 2 months ago i wrote a letter complaining that i want to deduct rent if he does not finish soon. I never deduct anything and just paid and hope he finishes soon. Well he now is using that note threatening to evict me but heres the thing. I have proof that he cashed my check in my bank statements full ammount And never late on rent. So my plan is to egg him into sueing me when he threatens again and after he lose, i plan to counter sue him for abusing the system by feeding false information to the judge and jury and having them rely on false claims on how im paying less rent. He is doing this because of my complaint and by law landlords cant threat renters if renter complains. What do you think?

Landlords are the scum of the earth, screw him. Sorry, just hate they way they treat people. I understand if your renting out a slum then your probly dealing with low life crack head types, but if your renter is paying on time, you should be thankful.

just move. he needs your rent money more than you think.
He has the rent money... I was never late on paying rent, but hes trying to use my complaint note in trying to prove in court that i didnt pay full rent but my bank statement shows that he did got it.

Sounds like you have a case. His inconveniencing your living conditions justifies the note and your banks statements are evidence in your favor.

He wants to evict us becuase hes remodeling to increase rent by alot i told him i cannot afford that so now hes been lagging on finishing the remodeling and finding ways to evict us so he can rent it out to someone who will pay the increase. He went as far as moving our trash cans to the front so the city will give him a ticket so he can use that to evict us.

Are you under a lease agreement?
Yes and he breached so many things, dumping construction junk in my backyard. Never give a 24 hour noticed with any visit even remodeling. Inconvient living conditions deducting out of my security deposits for cutting my 1/4 of my vegetable garden so he can dump his construction supplies. I have no proof besides the threaten to evict us for not payin full rent. When he cut my garden he called it a clean up charge and too alot out if my security deposit.

He dosent need my money this guy owns 5 properties, he wants a more wealthier renter to pay his increase of rent.

I'd already be talking to an attorney about what's going on and try and make your own case, it really sounds like you have one.

Just for references if it does go that far and i win both cases in court what wil be the result? Either way when he does that i will have to move im assuming. Will the courts compensate me with anything? Perhaps a make him pay the security deposits of the new house or something simular? I will be getting a lawyer when it does go that far but im wondering what lies ahead after court.

exactly, how much rent are you talking about. you have to weigh the cost (monetarily and otherwise) of fighting your landlord on this. it might be easier and cheaper to just move somewhere else.whats your end goal? to obtain a nice place to live within your budget or get in a fight with some asshole so you can pay him more rent?

You may be looking at some reimbursement for rent and the security deposit but I doubt it'd be anymore than that unless you can prove he's being malicious.

Isnt taking me to court for a complaint note of not payful full rent and using that note as an offense in court a malicous? By doing that hes disregarding the truth, inducing to rely on false claim to decieve the party and the judge. The counter sue im planning is for malicous prosecution. Although thier is no physical injury but thier is a history of him breaching the contract we been renting from him for 15 years. Never took legal matters but in this case its almost bona fide.

He's just trying to cover his ass and take you to court first, definitely get an attorney.

Quit cock-blocking the guy, find another place to live that you can afford before this all gets ugly. Harsh, I know, but you're holding the guy back, you know? Is this shit really worth all of the aggravation?
