Yeah, you don't want to flush. Seriously, it's a myth. Why would you want to starve your plants in their final weeks of budding and stunt their growth? No disrespect meant, but if you think about it, it's just plain dumb.

ya ok ive done a little research and it seems like most people flush and most people say it does improve smoothness and flavor. if i have to sacrifice a couple grams from not feeding for two weeks for smoother tastier smoke im gonna do it so on that note i think im gonna go ahead and flush in a week or so

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but you only THINK the smoke is smoother. You've been conditioned to believe it. Like all those people that believe 'Dro is a strain, lol.

The healthier the plant is, especially in it's final weeks, the bigger and better the bud will be. There's absolutely no denying it. It's scientific fact.

Also, not feeding in the final weeks is not the same as flushing for those weeks.

the way i see it is that it is personal preference, some people swear by it some people think its another one of those silly MJ myths. theres no need to start another pissing match on this topic, there are plenty on this site already.

i plan on doing a minor flush but only because i am going to run out of nutes before they finish

I dont know shit( am not an expert), but anytime i have succesfully dealt with keeping living things of all kind alive.
it does seem that simulating a natural enviornment(recreating things that happen in nature)never seems to fail; nature has already figured it out.
my one and only question on the subject of flushing would be " does nature flush these plants that occour in thier natural setting?"
unless there is some larger amount of rainfall during the harvest time, i would conclude...........no

depending on what kind of nutes you use, it is better to flush, have you ever smoked and it tasted like a chemical or cleaner of sorts, that was from someone who didn't flush and chose to get the weight instead of the taste and quality. If your growing for your own personal smoke, i'd agree, flush for last couple weeks

i agree no need for a pissing contest im just trying to get my facts straight before my first harvest.

in nature in late harvest season, it gets cold, cold causes a hault in certain nutrient uptake, which causes the leaves to change. so in some way there is a flush

i have harvested flushed and unflushed bud, there is a diffence. a chemical difference, and a burn difference. ever smoked a jay that seemed dry when you rolled it but just wouldnt stay lit. that bud was unflushed. ever had a bowl taste like ass at the end only to dump it out and find a little chunk of bud left, that weed was unflushed. not flushing weed will still leave you with a decent taste, you would really have to be a conissour to be able to tell the difference. the main prob lies in the burning of it, unflushed bud (as well as bud that was not properly dried and cured) will never burn away to clean white ash, which is one way to know your bud is free of impurites.

that cleaner taste is sometimes the result of genetics, and if done right is a desireable taste. not always the result of unflushed product. also chemicals are often sprayed on bud thats not local to make the smell upon import.

i have five plants this year so i think ill flush the bubblegum and then not flush the next one i harvest.
you would have to pick the same strain to experiment on, if you have two bubblegum that are growing similar, flush one and not the other, that way you can keep your experiment as controlled as possible by limiting factors that would effect the end result.
