when i germ seeds i put them in rapid rooters as well and put them in a humidome until the rooter plug is well jungled with roots, this helps the plant to establish itself quicker in the dwc system. i would get roots in the water in less then a week doing it this way and explosive growth soon after. here is the last DWC monstrosity i grew, vegged her for about 6 1/2 to 7 weeks and was topped on 3 separate occasions to keep it from reaching 8' tall lol, this is the kind of growth to expect with DWC and dont think a soil plant would have even came close to this, not to mention this is just a 5 gal pot (no way a soil plant this size would have grown to this size in a 5 gal pot). get yourself a ppm meter (if you can) and you wont be sorry, also try and let the seedlings establish a little more next time and i can guarantee you your hydro plants would be much larger than your soil ladies.
