today i got a 2'x2' 8bulb t5
it has 4 3000 and 4 6500
will this work for seedlings and clones or should i have
8 3000 or
8 6500? for best results?
this will only be used for clones and or seedlings.

it will work fine how it is for now.

but i would suggest going with 8 6400k/6500k bulbs at least sometime in the future

i use my High Output t5's for veg and my mothers. i have a t8 for clones, but, lol, i SUCK at taking cuttings...so...its just kinda there, making me look like a fool, lol!!! i want to get a 4ft-12 bulb HO t5 to hang vertically so my mothers get side light. it sounds like overkill though, so its just an idea for now.

Idk, i'm gonna have to disagree with the recommendations of backing off the lights. As you can see, I run mine at an inch, or less, without any issues at all. I bring my lights down as soon as the first leaves unfold, and they love it.

That is unnecessary IMO and someone risky but if it works for you then right on! i like to stretch my seeds a little to build their stalk so it really is personal preference

it sounds like his environment was too hot from the T5 cause the seedling to become dehydrated when all the moisture got evaporated out
