problem with 2 of my plants need help (sensi star & skunk#1)

Im pretty sure im experiencing a plant problem but i cant diagnose it.

Hoping someone could take a look at a few pics and give the their ideas.

I have a seedsman Skunk #1 (original) and a sensi star both 3 weeks into veg w/ some issues.

the Skunk #1 almost looks like the green color in the leaves is fading (best way to describe it) only on the top of the plant. it involves all leaves, fan leaves and bud sites on the top of the plant.

It doesn't appear to be too close to the light.

The Sensi star is showing some splotchy red/brownish spots on only 2-3 of the lowest fan leaves on the whole plant.

any ideas as to what this could be?

fyi im using ff ocean forest soil, ff grow big and ff bio bloom. I havent fed full dose of veg nutes yet. only up to half dose (1tsp of grow big and 1tbs of bio bloom). last fed on saturday and ive only noticed the problem today.

im really not sure it could be a nute problem as even the nute sensitive strawberry cough is happy with the same feeding schedule/dosage. infact its possibly the healthiest of the bunch.

all have been supercrop'd, lst'd and topped (except the kings kush. its the runt of the litter)

thoughts?

thanks a bunch.

Epsom salt cannot be used for calcium deficiency. Epsom, mgso4... Is Mag not cal

...then what are you guys saying? its cal or mag?

ive never been good at diagnosing plant deficiencies. thats why i try to avoid them.

im still not sure whats wrong with the skunk #1 and the star.

the skunk looks like mag (im guessing) as i seen some pics of mag deficiency and it most resembles that but im still not sure and i really have no idea why the two fan leaves on the sensi star are showing those splotches (it shouldnt be water spots that got burned on!)

help? plz

looks like a calcium deficiency. are you using distilled or RO water?
im using water from the tap that sits out at least 36-48hrs before being used. thats how ive always watered without incident before. so im not sure. it just started in the last few days. not really spreading...but not improving either. the skunk#1 confuses me because it doesnt look like anything ive seen in plant problem guides except possibly a mag deficiency but its not really starting from the outside leaves in...its just random and most of the top of the plant...nothing below the newest growth is effected.

the sensi star just showed that problem yesterday. its only 2 or 3 of the fan leaves on the lowest nodes. so i really dont know whats the deal with it. hoping to get advice so i can try and fix this issue.

like i said im not good with diagnosing plant problems. all i can ever tell is that something is wrong but not what and how to fix it.

hey, if the problem is not getting worse it means you solved it or hit the spot at least. if your using tap water, you should get a water analysis... if it has too much calccium (hard water), you need to add more MG. excess calcium locks up mg.

so are we talking a pH issue? or a too much calcium issue?

i ran out of pH solution (drop tester) so im fuk'd till my package arrives as far as checking pH goes..i do have an old crappy meter i can try to use to get an idea.

u'd rather not use that old crappy meter man. tap water PH can be as high as 7.8-8.3 (if you live in indiana), i'd get some distilled water and water them with that in the mean time. i'd also add some lemon juice to it to lower the ph a little. better safe than sorry

lemon juice? instead of lime? can i literally squeeze half a lemon (or a whole lemon)?

also i watered on sat/sun (half got watered sat...other half sunday) so im good on watering for awhile. im using 5gal pots so they retain water for a longer period of time than the usual 3gal pots i use.

tonight i dont think i'll be able to do much unless theres a simple/quick fix. im actually off to my grow area now so i'll just monitor the situation for now. hopefully when i get back online later tonight i'll have some new info in the thread.

thanks for your input :)
