Did it dry too fast?

Harvest my plants, let dry by hanging them up, but they were dry in 4 days. Now have them in Jars and some of them are dry and brittle and smells like hay. Where did I go wrong and how do I fix them? Any help would be great..

The hay smell is perfectly normal, that is the chlorophyll breaking down. Usually you will find that closing them up in a jar will bring back some moisture from deeper in the bud. I often dry until crispy, place in jars overnight, and open them up again the next morning to find them slightly rehydrated.

You should have no problems as long as you let them cure for a good 30 days.

If you think your buds are too dry you can put a fan leaf off a live plant in overnight and it should give them a bit of moisture back, then remove the leaf.

Yup, I've done this too. Works great. I don't like using fruit or orange peel like some others do, I like to keep the smell and flavor of the actual bud, and using a fan leaf from a plant works very well for this.

i too think i over dried my buds, but my hygrometer says 67. i dried for 4 days, hung up. i left the little frosty leafs on, but cut off the majority. last nights the buds still felt a tad moist, and the leafs i left on were really dry. so i figure when i woke up this morning everything would be good. well, after cutting off the little dry leafs, some weer still real moist, i noticed the buds were a little too dry. even the big buds. but i didnt give them a squeeze, i thought they were to brittle. i jarred them up. in the jar the humidity is 67. i am going to burp every 12hrs. when i put them in the jar they smelt very nice! i did not smell any hey smell at all. and im assuming i wont. but its possible. i was told you will get a hey smell, but is there any way to avoid it? i will check tonight and see. i have a good feeling the hey smell has been avoided but its my first grow since 1997. and when i clip for friend si never hang out long enough to find out the end results.
