I like most of you have heard the bad news. The feds ordering closure of dispensaries. I sure hope the citizens of California, the usa (& the dispensaries) dont bend over and take it dry. I certainly am not.

My fear is this: they start with shutting down all the dispensaries but they end with wiping out prop 215 all together and all doc rec's wont be worth the paper they are printed on!

If California allows this to happen then its just a matter of time before all the other medical states get wiped out. they start with california because its top dog in the mmj industry and figure if they can successfully shut down cali's mmj program that all the other states will shake in fear and comply more easily.

Im not sure what type of scare tactics they are planing on utilizing to get their way but I sure hope we don't ignorantly fall for it.

Lets present the cold hard facts:
Feds go after cali because they are the biggest mmj state out of them all.
Feds are targeting dispensaries because they have store front addresses and its easy to locate and raid them first.
the feds can NOT get us all. Its impossible. even if they brought every piece of military right into california they still couldn't bust every grower, smoker, etc.
So i say stand up to them. The only ones that should really be shitting bricks is the dispensaries.



Im not so sure the Feds can make state/local police enforce their policies over the states prop 215 laws. Dont quote me on that though as im not 100% sure.

My thoughts are we stand up to this. Send a clear message to the gov't that even if they take away our 215 WE aren't going to simply sell off all our grow equipment or stop using mj for our own personal use.

I say we challenge them. You can't expect new results unless you meet them with complete resistance. I hope the officials in california make that known however they will probably be the first to fall in line if the gov't decides to withhold funding to the state. thats probably one of the biggest advantages the feds have over cali in that sense.

However the gov't cant do ANYTHING to us unless they physically come on down and arrest/bust us all one by one. I say good luck to them and a big FUCK YOU.

I never thought i'd say that but i'd rather have him back in office because while we may be waling on pins on needles at least he would leave us be for the most part. i read a few reports online as well as some info i just seen on the Tv and basically the feds aren't touching patients who use/smoke/grow for themselves...more so the commercial operations and those in it for profit and illegal activities associated with mmj (ie. a cardholder selling to those without cards etc)


so MOST of us can rest but i still say the feds are up to something. i honestly don't believe they will just stop at shutting down the "for profit" dispensaries. i say its just the beginning!

i think if we really pushed hard and went to the streets with our pro mj position, the people would vote to legalize it federally. or maybe just making it a schedule 2 at least so people can study it, and in a few years legalize it because of the results of those studies. even the people who dont smoke realize its a waste of time and resources when you keep it illegal. why the fuck is alcohol legal? we have huge programs that try to stop drunk driving, and a ton of people die every year anyways. but imagine trying to take alcohol away. it wouldnt happen! so why is mj illegal when it doesnt cause anywhere near the problems alcohol does? simple answer: profit. profit for big pharmaceutical companies.

if we take the money out of politics, the politicians would be beholden to the VOTER, not the CORPORATIONS. when this happens, the corporations would have very little say in governing, since they only consist of a few hundred or a few thousand votes.

amen. did you see that special on TV they did about (what i like to call) the oxycontin dispensaries in Florida? That shit is insane & i'd say a solid 80% or better didnt need it legitimately.

You make a good point. Growing bud takes work. Just like tomatoes take work to be grown (and they are sold for profit!) There are typical farmers markets where people bring in goods they've grown and sell it for profit. So why should mj be grown and givin away for free (or even at a loss if were talking totally free)?

Im all for them going after the dispensaries conducting illegal activity. Its best for the industry as a whole if those abusing the system to do drug trafficking are eliminated so they can't make the good honest people look bad.

however they are going a little too far imo. Seems like they are trying to make prop 215 go away. Even if they say they are leaving alone patients who have cards who don't break the 215 laws (ie. 8oz bud and 6 plants mature/12 immature if growing).

I still think it STARTS with the dispensaries and ENDS with 215 all together.

Its wierd...we profess to be democratic and capitalist, but we vote in a law and pass it but the government wont respect the democratic process because too many people have the opportunity to conduct business. Does anyone else spot a wolf in sheeps clothing?

I agree with you. If someone were sitting on a stockpile of lb's of bud it would be like having your own bank account. i think the gov't realizes how valuable mj is so they wanna be the ones with the bankroll.

unfortunately for the gov't growing mj is far easier than making any other "drug" like alcohol, tobacco, coke, meth, etc. so they have a harder time controlling it imo. They also have a harder time catching those responsible for its production because virtually everyone is doing it (in comparison to manufacturing other drugs).

They will never control it. Their best bet (imo) is to just allow dispensaries to stay open and tax them. Tax the dispensaries, the delivery services, the co-ops, etc. then they get their cut. Thats the best its gonna get for them imo. they can shut down the mmj program in cali but its not going to deter it being used/grown especially from most who already have cards and learned how to grow.

i know if they said mmj doesnt mean squat tomorrow that i wouldnt give up so easily and id still grow for myself and family/friends.

ive had a dr rec for 3 yrs or so and *knock on wood* ive never had to use it to show a cop, etc.

if you ask me the gov't has many more things to focus on rather than some mj usage. like the budget, national security (even though osama is dead it doesnt mean the terrorists are through), etc.

If obama wanted to have a better chance at being re-elected he should make good on his budget/jobs promises and find a way to make mmj (not just in cali but all states w/ mmj programs) profitable for everyone. mmj could put people to work AND bring in an amazing amount of tax money.

Colorado has a highly regulated mmj system and will have a highly regulated rec usage as soon as that happens. Looks like they put about 10 bucks into this "crackdown". They're so impotent that they're having the landlords of the dispensaries do the evicting. Where's the nationwide coordinated raids? This is a whole new tactic. It's meant to scare us as much as possible without actually commiting resources to it. If they spent money, the public would be pissed off that precious funds were spent on such a lame issue.

The prop 215 system may be one of the problems but it certainly isnt the reason the feds are picking on cali. Prop 215 was passed back in what...95? 96? look how many years have gone by. certainly they would have done something this extreme sometime in the last 15 or so years. I dont think it has to do with the failure of prop 19. if prop 19 passed they probably would say exactly what they are saying now, "its still illegal on the federal level. period" (which is basically the message they are sending out)

Besides the state/gov't really NEEDS the money from mmj if you ask me. its such a large industry (biggest in california). They would be foolish to try and demolish it. Infact as long as things are done by the book and tax is being paid the gov't should practically encourage the mmj industry's growth. It raises SO much money annually that could be used to help out everyone in the nation in one way or another.

im with you. i been growing for 4 years and haven't bought any bud in that time frame. once i think i bought an 8th in between because i ran out 1 wk before a harvest but thats it.

the clubs ARE a ripoff but the money they generate could be put to good use instead of trying to outlaw it.

i agree and have said this from the beginning: the gov't can not afford to come after everyone themselves. with all the terrorism and the money spent through the recent wars the u.s. felt compelled to stick its nose in their funds are hurting. the usa credit rating dropped from perfect for the first time in history! that tells it all imo.

sure they can commit some money to bust a few of the biggest dispensaries in cali or other states but thats the best they can do. they can't afford the resources to go after those who aren't in the limelight. raiding a place like harborside or such in oakland is easy...they have a physical address you can find online. busting a local delivery service is much harder as is those who grow under the radar but still turn a big profit.

what the feds don't understand is by knocking off a few big clubs all it will do is give business to the smaller growers/vendors out there because there will be a huge demand to fill. its not going to knock the wheels of the system...just give a chance for fresh faces.

i keep saying it but obviously the feds DONT visit this site otherwise they would TAX it and we could all benefit instead of making threats and blowing money to get rid of something that makes money.
