humidity problems? please help!

Hey growers! I'm in need of help on how to lower humidity for flowering? I'm at around 60% and a temp of about 80 right now for veg but im switching to flower next sunday. I have a fan blowing at all times but I don't have very good ventilation due to my closet but its only one plant and I keep my closet doors open mostly all the time. She's lookin great but im worried about goin into flower with that high of humidity and not good ventilation. Can someone please help?! Any suggestions.. thanks RIU!

silica gel its a sachet and absorbs moisture comes in most parcels with liek shoes and stuff you can buy it online and its cheap google it

do you have any open containers of water? if its soil, is there a catch tray with a bit of water in the bottom? are you foliar feeding? <---- all these add to humidity, not much each, but they do.
if you can, keep the closet doors open for a bit, to vent out the air. get bigger fans, and have a fungus/rot/mildew killer handy in case shit hits the fan, dont waste any time, especially in flowering

I do have a catch tray, I could tell that was raising the humidity a bit. What should I use instead? Either way water is going to come out of the pot.
I keep my closet doors open all day till I go to sleep cause that shit lights up my room. I will get a bigger fan. Thanks for the help!

Sorry I see you posted the % before.. The only way to really drop it is with a dehumidifier..... Check craigslist, you can usually find a pretty decent one arond 100.00... They really help...

You need proper ventilation. I've dealt with mold in my closet and the problem with your setup is going to be during flower at lights out. My humidity went from 50% during the day to 75% at night because the plants are constantly releasing moisture and I wasn't running my vent fan. Since you need complete darkness to flower properly, your door will be closed and your humidity will rise.

I use a window a/c on my closet, which lowers my daytime humidity by 10-15% and keeps my temps at 76f, so if you have an extra one lying around....

Another option is Damp-Rid, but I don't know how effective that will be in the long run. My a/c removes about 1 gal of moisture every 2 days so you might have to replace it quite often (the more plants you have, the more moisture is released into the air)

Also, excellent air circulation inside the closet, and remove all dead plant material.

Haven't done it yet but I can if I need to. And I have a decent fan but ill get another one. I was checkin out some cheap mini dehumidifiers. Not sure how well it would work but should I try it? Along with leaving that window open plus the fans. I only have one plant its my first grow so im growin a bagseed. I plan on getting a grow tent sometime and HID lights, so I can have a real grow goin but I am still worried about this one cause its my only one and she's lookin gorgeous and already stinks. And I don't want mold! Lol thanks for the help!

Think of that as one giant light leak. Even if you take precautions, a little bit everyday adds up. It won't kill your plant, but it will prolong flower, produce a few seeds, and be slightly less potent. Many first-time growers never even make it to harvest with their plants, so that in itself is an achievement to be proud of. It's your call.

I vent to and from my basement, no outside air but I wish I could leave a window open down there like you can. Mine isn't finished so it's just a wide open cement floor, but I'm sure that window will help you a little. If you are in a humid environment, a dehumidifier is an excellent investment, just as important as your vent fan. Keep it outside your growroom if you can, and pull the dry air into your closet because dehumidifiers put off some heat (raises temps in my entire basement by 5f)

I was too having the problem of high humidity. I flipped lights last week and sometimes its still reachin 65-70%. I got a BIG ol bowl of rice and popped that into the grow room. now im chillin at 55-60
