because people are curious and like to ask questions. eventually some people thought maybe there is another life after this one. they see their mother dying and start thinking 'this cant be it'. an emotionally stable way to deal with death is to believe it is not the end. however, just because someone believes something does not make it true. its just a comforting thought that people enjoy, so it has stuck around.
 
The galaxy does not have a well-defined edge. You could say eighteen thousand light-years or forty thousand ... and be right either way.

The Solar System has been measured to be about 28,000 light years from the center of the galaxy, and about 20 light years above the galaxy's equatorial plane. It is within the "Orion" spiral arm.

The disk of the Milky Way galaxy is about 100,000 light years in diameter (one light year is about 9.5 x 1015 meters), but only about 1000 light years thick. Our Galaxy contains about 200 billion stars. Most of the stars are located in the disk of our galaxy, which is the site of most of the star formation because it contains lots of gas and dust.



So.......When we ask how far are we from the center of the galaxy, or how large our galaxy is, we do know the real answers for these questions =)

ive been leanin towards the thought of aliens comin down back in the day and took advantage of our ancestors ignorance of that kinda technology and used it to their advantage.

What did they have to gain from our ignorant ancestors? Also why would they teach them about the things our ancestors wrote about god(s). Also why don't the aliens come back? Do they think we are too smart to be taken advantage of? I doubt it, they must be way more advanced than we are. Especially since they had space travel when our ancestors were around, so who knows how advanced they are now? Don't answer the last question, lol.
 
If intelligent aliens have visited Earth before, then I suspect they wouldnt return for quite some time knowing themselves how evolution and time it takes for intelligent species to grow up. If they were here when we were building pyramids, they might not think we are worth re-visiting at all or for the next thousand years perhaps. I cant even begin to think of the technology that we will have available to us within the next 100 or 1000 years............

So do you believe they aren't still visiting us? I believe we are getting closer and closer to them.

I dont believe they are still here, no. Not to say I do believe they were here already, either. There's compelling evidence both ways to that question. If they were, they wouldnt look like a human being. Different sized plants with different atmospheric conditions create wildly different sized mammals. Aliens also wouldnt have any reason to sit out and chill with us humans even if they did look like us, to be that technically capable and travel so far just to eat at mcdonalds and arbys with humans? Nah, they'd make themselves known and share. :)

i think they used them to make shit on the earth they needed or mine shit they needed. just by doin that they would have to atleast pass down some kinda information to get all that shit done ya know. to me they dont come back because of what you said. we're not gonna see them as gods we're gonna be like oh fuck aliens blow them outa the sky and eventho they can prolly vaporize the planet its not worth it to em.
