Ha ha yeah man I bet! Especially if you live anywhere close to jersey. So what is in store with your upcoming grow man?
Man I am excited! I have been doing research for a long time now and feel I am ready to give it a go. This will be my first grow attempt. I have some friends that grow but they live in Tucson. He will be able to come down a couple times for help and advice. I am just going to do an organic grow in soil. I bought a 4x4 tent last night with what I think is everything I need. Ordered 5 seeds from attitude and got some freebies out of the deal. Running a 600w dual arc agromax bulb, also got a 2' hood that has two 2' T5 6500k bulbs that I will use while they are younger. Just to be safe since I am starting from seed I also got a 51 site seed starting kit that came with a heating pad and a lid to control humidity. I am trying to be extra careful and attentive that way I don't fail! Ordered some AzaMax for the roots organic soil, 4" growbright inline fan for intake, 6" inline duct fan for Big kahuna hood, and a 6" grow bright HV fan and filter combo for exhaust. The kit included some roots organic buddha grow and bloom that I will use as well. I upgraded to the digital and dimmable ballast as well for precaution. I am super excited and can't wait to start my first journal. I will be open to ANY and ALL comments/help I can get. Just to top off my day I just got a new phone with 8mp camera so I can document everything and put it up in good quality.

edit: I can't wait for my "Reserva Privada OG Kush The #18 Feminized" from Attitude.

Everything sounds great man. The only question I have is why did you order azamax for your soil? Growing is fun man but don't let it take over your life if you can :) this is all I do now besides go to school. I absolutely love it and don't mind it at all but never thought I'd get this deep ;) if you guys need any help I am here to guide you along. Good luck and happy growing!

I am partly to blame for that I told him to keep an eye out when he is buying soil some times they come infested with fungus gnats, also its good to keep on hand if he ends up getting clones down the line because you should really pre treat all your clones unless you know the grower really well. You know fungus gnats are my worst enemy.

My first hydro grow. 3 plants. W gallon pots, 3 weeks veg. 6 oz finished.
My first soil. 5 plants. 8 weeks veg. 3 gallon pots, 3.5oz finished.

Conclusion, hydro is easier for me. I will only do soil outdoors with the great light in the sky. My tomatos seem to be fine, my cannabis show me I'm soil retarded.
Hydro is not easier .....when you get soil right you will see how much simpler and easier it really is....I started in soil, left it for hydro for abut 5 years then switched back,I just couldn't get that taste you get in a soil grow.....got close but not close enough, now for faster growth rates and bigger yields hydroponics is the way to go but taste soil hands down........I prefer good taste over quantity..........

Yes soil/organic leaves the best taste imaginable. Blindfolded I can tell which plant is soil grow and which is hydro if I were to smoke the two like jcdw said the taste you get in soil is a lot better than hydro. The closest I can get is by using coco as a medium it leaves a little organic grown taste to it.

Yeah hydro isnt easier its just left forgiving than soil. If you get problems in hydro you can flush clean your res and try to fix the problem, soil not so much.

What do you say to people who get better taste with their hydro than you do with soil? Not saying I do, we don't know what each others product. Homebrewer for example uses Floralicious Bloom Plus to provide the essentials a plant needs to produce terpines giving a "15% increase in aroma" - homebrewer, that hydro doesn't do as good a job as providing as soil. I'm a firm believer that a perfect nutrition regime in hydro cannot provide a lesser product than the perfect soil grow.

That, I prefer good taste over quantity leads me to believe you think you can taste synthetic nutrients vs organic. I won't correct your perception regardless of how scientifically absurd it is.

Also, I stated it's easier for me.. ME. I'm ignorant growing cannabis in soil. Don't use blanket, "Hydro is not easier" statements. Life is relative people. I am short today. Gonna stay away from RIU for a bit. Philo I'll still respond to your messages but I am officially out for awhile.

Before buying an R/O system look at the water waste amount and your water bill. The cost of the machine and cost of filter replacement constantly with so much use.

I did. My 64 feet of ebb/flow trays cost me $18/month at the water dispenser that also has a double UV filtration.
The R/O machine ends up costing $200/year for a cheap model plus the huge water bill monthly.
Look into a "zero waste" RO system. Unless they've changed in the past few years, the principle is pretty straightforward: the reject water from the membrane is pushed back into the supply pipes. It's only slightly concentrated over what the membrane gets as "fresh" water, and provided someone occasionally uses the pipes (flushing toilets, running the faucet, whatever), it just keeps chugging along. Costco sells one for under $300.

I wasn't trying to argue or get hostile so chill....sorry if I came off negatively.....but I do back my claims.... I can't taste the difference between organic nutrients and synthetic nutrients because I wont consume them lol j/k but I can taste the difference of soil grown and hydroponically grown cannabis......you think medium has no influence on taste.....you can add all the sugars and carbs you want but it wont ever taste like well grown soil bud.......:blsmoke:

I dont want to stir things up either but I can tell you I can actually taste synthetic nutrients. For example, I could tell you if someone used gh 3 part or Botanicare. Just like with organics you can taste that "earthy" taste. Hydro has it's pluses and it's minuses but all in all it's whatever is best for you. I can and will say though that every massive grow I've been to in Cali, Oregon, Washington, rhode island, Florida, etc... If they are hydro growers they still have one room of soil just for their personal. I think that's enough said right there on which tastes better.

Hydro is just as easy as soil when it comes to growing IMO. it's just some people are made for land and some for water lol. If anyone that grows hydro and thinks their stuff tastes THE BEST then I would like to exchange some medicine. I don't like to toot my own horn but even growers I give my bud to can't wait for my next harvest. All of it's gone before it's even cropped and that is just because of the taste.

Would love to taste your medication! I chose soil because one, its my first time and two, because everyone I talk to says there is nothing like the earthy taste you get from soil!

i'm almost done with repotting. i hate work!

i swept out the tent but said EFF it and didn't wash down the liner. :joint:

they have been tied down or topped. afgani #1, malawi, skunk #1 and cinderella 88 seedlings, and super silver haze clones. i need a joint!

repotted new batch 002.jpg

such a cute afgani!
repotted new batch 005.jpg

there is a HUGE difference in the size of the 2 gallon smart pots (the short ones) and the 2 gall grow bags. the grow bags take about 2/3 more soil! i know they're 2 gallon because i have 1 gallon, 2 gallon and 3 gallon bags.
