Sure shoot the bastard , stay in your patch in the woods 24/7 with a varmit rifle..(I use a mini-14) and don't sleep. I need a device that doesn't require monitering, I'm not out there all the time, that just attracts attention, we are trying to be discreet, you know,

ok so without killing the critters, just go to walmart and get some squirell away its with the bird feed, its non toxic, you just mix it in with your bird feed and the squirrels won't touch it, but it also works if you sprinkle it around your garden. gotta do it every time it rains, its cheep tho 29 cents for a bag. as for rackoons, while your at walmart get some screen, the small holes one, it should be in the same area as tools or in the garden center, its just a big roll of window screen. make a barrier around your plants(they make it in black and silver back is harder to see in the woods) then mix some hot sause and water and mist it on the screen. the racoons will touch the screen with their hands and then eat with them, they might take a few bites but that'll be about it, they don't like the spice.

IM A GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So well I know moth balls work good to keep a lot of animals away, so before I left to go back up to college, I spread them around my plants. For the pats 4 days iv been thinking if they worked or not, and I keep thinking that my plants have already been destroyed, well after reading Cheetahs post I found this!

" These repellents are usually comprised of either napthalene (moth balls) "

you guys dont know how happy I am! My plants might actually not be destroyed when I go home this weekend = )

Also if anyone is curious, you can buy Moth Balls at Dollar General, they are 2$, and you get alot of them. Just put them around your plants, but not in your plants, becuase they are poisonus.

Thanks so much Cheetah, deffently giving you respect = ) You just made my day, and its only 11:15

Also, yeah I did not want to kill the racoons, because they have been around for to long. Everytime I have a fire they come out, sometimes i give them gramcrackers. But they never go through my garbage so I dont have a problem with them. Also couldnt kill them because there is 3 of them, and one is a baby. So im guessing its a family, and thats just cruel. If Moth balls can just keep them away from my plants, and they can live happy, I will be happy = )

Your best bet is to put up some fencing around your plant.I've been outdoor growing for many years and I always put up fencing. It's the only way to stop them, but make sure you bury the bottom of the fence a couple of inches or so.Coons like to dig under sometimes.

Also might as well turn this into a animal repellent thread lol.

At Dicks Sporting goods they sell Cougar piss, or some sort of repellent piss. It keeps deers, pigs, and many other animals away.

Also for deer, you can use Human Piss, and Human Hair to keep them away from your plants.

th easiest wasy to keep squirls and racoons away is to get yourself some bar soap, dial works best dove works second best crumble it up and spread it in a circle around your plants. Sprinkle it at least 4 feet away so it dosnt get in the root system. They dont like the smell at all and wont come anywhere near the soap
hope it helps
Thanks for the advice, im going to try it.

However if I get home, and the racoons dug my plants up, even with the moth balls.... lol

Then I think ill try Dial Soap next, and then Cougar Piss from Dicks Sporting goods. I will conquer the racoons = ) . But like I said they usually stay away from my stuff, they probably just dont know its mine. lol I should put some gram crackers around it, they will eat it and be like... "oooo these are jacks plants, lets help him out by eating all the mites within 100000mile radius"

Growers <3

I hit a squirrel right in the head with a big ass rock and a sling shot. That was yesterday. I didn't kill it, just pissed it off.
