Squirrels and Racoons

ok so... Moth balls didnt work, but the plants were still sprouted and intact.

So I smoothed the soil out, filled in the holes the raccoon or whatever dug, and went off to get something to keep it away, becuase I dont want to kill it.

So 20$ later, I come home with some Ritter Critter, it repells squirells, racoons, ground hogs, and other animals like that. Well I go back to apply it, and whatever keeps doing it ( I think racoon) dug them up again. 1 sprout still above surface, the other one is missing. Its night time now, so have to go out there with a flash light to find it.

Im aware interupting the plants night cycle isnt good, but rather not let the other sprout die.

getting so sick of this. If ritter critter doesnt work, im going to make a trap. Caught whatever it is. and drive it far far away, and drop it off. However if it is a racoon, I know that its a family of them. mom dad and a baby. So I will feel bad doing this. I wish they would just stop digging my plants up.

As of now I have, Moth Balls, Dial Soap, and Ritter critter, all around my plants. So if that doesnt stop them, then I guess we know what dosnt work for racoons = )

Ok so after further research, I found the predators of racoons:

Fox, Bobcats, and Coyotes

now where am I going to find one of these. Hopefully they are like ladybugs, and I can just order 10-20 of them. = 0

Thanks, well turns out Critter Ritter does work. Well either that, or the dial soap. I applied both, and the racoons didnt mess with my sprouts all weekend = )

Sprouts are doing good, check out my grow journal if you want to follow it. Sorry no pictures yet, but pictures of sprouts are boring anyways.

By the way I got my ritter critter at Lowes, it was 14$ keeps racoons, squirels, groundhogs, chipmunks, deer, and some other animals away. Seems to work pretty well.
