Is my understanding of powdery mildew accurate?
My operating belief is that because spores are ubiquitous, you cannot totally eradicate PM threat unless in a sealed environment with filtered intake. PM can be effectively eliminated with good ventilation/airflow, low humidity and foliar sprays before flowering. Once infected with PM, a plant is systemically and permanently infected, and has already been so for some time. You can manage outbreaks with sprays but it's in there for good and will pop up even with optimal conditions.
