BC Hydro

I know probably a lot of folks here have experience dealing with BC Hydro. Since I'm looking to start up my own operation (small, I'm thinking 3x 400w - I have time on my hands and am fairly well researched) and was wondering what their policy on power spikes and the like is?

It's a government company, not private, so they might be more inclined to jump on me, right?

Will 1200w + fans be enough for them to jump all over me? I'm somewhat tired of seeing all the Purple Kush or the other strains I regularly see from my guy (who I trust and is a good guy so I won't deal with anyone else). Sometimes you want to expand whats on the menu :) I'm sure I don't have to explain that here.

Saving a few bucks would be nice too (I am a heavy smoker, like 1/8 a day or more, with Diabetes/Depression/some Neuropathy, I've considered trying to get a card but I'm not sure what the best way to get it is other than seeing the doctor and most doctors don't really want to prescribe it).

Cheers

BC Hydro will work with law enforcement. But they are looking for people who are growing using the WHOLE house though. Real growers use huge generators if they grow using the whole house. You won't get caught with 1200 watts, its chump change. My province is also government owned hydro. I grew with a 400 watt with no problem for 4 months. Now I got a 1000 watt but I'm into the 2nd week only.

you might want try a little harder, the times they are a changing. BC Hydro is switching over to smart meters which will make it easier to spot growers although 1200 watts is small potatoes to them.
The more important thing is the tough on crime bill that's coming soon with mandatory jail terms for over 6 plants grows.

Part of the reason I want to try to replicate the guy who did the awesome vertical grow with only 3 huge trees is because the number of plants is very low with this method. And of course the yields are ridiculous and you save money on reflectors and from the sounds of heat isn't much of an issue with a little proper ventilation thanks to the convection effect and lack of heat traps in the room (plus this room is on the cool side anyway as it gets minimal direct sunlight due to the location).

yea, I wouldn't really worry that much about BC Hydro, if you had like 4+ 1000 watters in one room, with 4+ in each room of your house, then you gotta worry. But there are a lot of indoor growers who grow tomatoes etc on small scale. Plus I plan on growing tomatoes indoors and selling them to restaurants, it's going to be the same if not more lights than a pot grow, at least eventually.

Yeah, the country as a whole did something in one sense by going NDP. But on the other hand doing that forced a lot of asshole Liberal voters to the conservatives to avoid an NDP government (which could have happened).

Thanks for the input guys/gals.
