I am havin a hard time taking good pictures this morning ,,... I think one of them might just be good enough for you to see... My afghan kush is not doing so well, I am not worry though but I wonder if the soil is too hot (which I dont think because the other 4 are doing really well) or magnesium deficiency, at first I didnt know what I was doing and I cut a few leaves that had that rusty color on them, and the plant hasnt recovered yet, but I can still see the same rust color on 2 leaves, the newer one are still a nice green.

AKrust.jpg

Also, the TD has 2 little holes in one leaf, wondering if it's a combination of sweat and lights or some bug is in my room!? (again a little hard to see on the pic)

TDholes.jpg

the rest are doing just fine! (also another pic of the currently weak afghan kush) :

The Blue Mystic is the nicest, right in the middle of the dual spectrum it's loving life. Enjoy!! :leaf:

Sometimes you just get bad plants. I have a feeling that the afghan can recover but at the same time it probably just won't do as well as the others - regardless of what you do to it. Doesn't seem like you did anything wrong and not sure as to a cure. Sorry that's not more helpful.

The rest look amazing though. Good job on the lst

OK!! busy day, this morning, I had a feeling there was spidermites, and whiteflies in my garden, the whiteflies for sure, so anyway, I got this recipe for the spidermites online :

HERE IS WHAT TO DO

Making the Calicleaner

1.) Get a sauce pan - fill with one pint of water - put on lowest flame possible (do not boil !!!).
2.) Chop 4 -5 Habanera peppers fine. Chop open seeds and central membranes, as the power lies there.
3.) Simmer chopped peppers for 20 minutes - making sure not to boil (you will destroy the active proteins).
4.) When you put your head over the pan and the wispy-steam stings your eyes, the Calicleaner is ready.
5.) Pour the Calicleaner through a fine mesh strainer - a little fine grit is OK - let cool in a clean bowl.
6.) Pour room temperature contents in a mister spray bottle. Your are ready to apply.

so I sprayed them for the spidermites, I prefer to do it early in the grow even if I was not sure (better safe than sorry) and I released 250 ladybugs (check out the pics!!! they are all over the place!!) to take care of the whiteflies...

TDSLHnewpots.jpgladybugs.jpgtheroomoctober18.jpg

Also, I got my new fan, it seems like it will be much easier to control the temps now, just still waiting for my fan speed controller.

newfanfilter.jpgtempsdown.jpg

Also (I told you it was a busy day), I got my compost tea stuff from http://www.gardenerspantry.ca through the mail (fast shipping!!) , I added just a little strength to my compost tea that has been brewing for 48hours now... (the TD and SLH that just got transplanted had a little sample of it) It seems to be bubbling more since I put the EM in...

I will try to keep both grow journal separated, but you guys deserve to know what's happening with the Tangerine Dream and the Super Lemon Haze ( the main reason for picking those 2 for the LED dresser experiment is that they require the most time to harvest so otherwise I would have had to keep those 2 all by themselves in the grow room 20 days after the other strains were harvested.

I made a cut at the bottom so that the fan sits lower, it looks like I will have a 4.4sq/ft flat screen for my scrog at about 12" from my lights.

alright! thats it for today, enjoy :leaf:

updates! everything seems to be going all right, about 100 ladybugs are still alive and seem to be having a good life on my plants(sorry for half of them that either died from the weight of my foot or from the fan slicing them in half)

I received 2 LED lights 2 days ago:
BLUE 90W UFO LED GROW LIGHT 90 WATT 5th Generation
90W QUAD BAND LED GROW LIGHT UFO 90 WATT QUADBAND
They are in the main room until I get the dresser ready for the Tangerine dream and the Lemon Haze

The afghan kush is showing some nice colour on the newer growth, it will pick up...it is not as red as it looks, that is the LED pointing at it.

I raised the Blue Mystic and the Grapefruit so that I can start training them in the screen sooner.

The Tangerine Dream and the Super Lemon Haze have not been growing at all since I transplanted them in better container for the dresser LED project... I could see after I transplanted that they had an excellent root system in the 3 gallon already so they had to recover... I expect them to explode this week!!

The temps are way under control since I got the 6'' in place.

Thats about it! Cheers :leaf:

Enduro , loving the spidermite tip , i use plant vitality plus , and i to speay even if i dont have them as a precaution , is it as effective do you know ?
Those UFO led units are junk lol sorry to say ,not that i want to get into a hid v led argument in anyway , but just my thought , unless your using them for veg , i guess they are ok for that ,
Loving the attack of mutant ladybugs , awesome idea, hope they fill thier bellies ....

Yes I know about the UFOs , but they are better than the previous version ( I like to think ), they are cheap, and they will go as supplemental lights in the dresser... but for about 10 days, they will be in the main room, they are mainly giving some wattage to the back side of a few plants, it will be interesting to see how the leaves are developing on the UFOs sides.

For the spider mites trick, I just copied from another RIU thread, the caliclean, I just trust it, was my first time trying and if I do have spidermites for sure, I will try again that way first if no ladybugs are available.

Enduro , yeah for supplementry or side lighting they are ideal , do you know if the lady bugs also eat spidermite ?? Keep a close eye on your girls , if you see any mites or eggs after spraying let me know please , i like to be 100% sure ....

I like to be 100% sure too!! I must spend a total of 20 minutes a day just watching them so hopefully I will be fine. I wonder if there is spidermites outside in the winter or at some point I won't have to worry about them? I have nylons covering the intake by the window, is it enough^?yes the ladybugs eat the spidermites, whiteflies too, they will eat most bad bugs in your garden, if not all.

Yeah if your in the uk as i am , they do die off below a tempeture i can not remember , i also use nylon stockings to cover my intakes and i have never seen any bugs as yet , did you buy your ladybugs online ?

no from some gardening store,... they were just about to get rid of them and they still had a few bags in the fridge!

35 days from seeds now:

The Blue Mystic is still the best, the Grapefruit is doing really well as well, they are both nice and bushy ... just gotta make it to the damn screen now!!

The Afghan Kush is definitely behind the other 2 but is coming strong now.

The Super Lemon Haze is doing fine, recovered from transplantation now, I had to tie it down quite a bit if I want it to fit under the screen in the dresser.

The Tangerine Dream is not fully recovered from transplantation yet, it does have new growth but everything is slow, I tried not to disturb it too much while LSTing, but eventually I will have to bend it more for the dresser.

I still have a little colony of ladybugs, I saw a weird looking small bug that I felt like I had to kill, unfortunately it might have been a baby ladybugs, but I am still unsure so I dont feel too bad about it.

The humidity goes down to 30, ... is this too low, or kind of the limit^? mostly around 40 though

comments and advice are welcome!

Thanks

Looking good man :)
I am attempting the pepper spidermite thing today , noticed a few small white dots on some individual plants , so im gonna try and save on buying more plant vitality and see if it works , done some research and it cant do any harm at all so worth a go ....Peace Enduro...

Are my pots too small? (dont worry about the ones to the left of the picture... they go in a tiny dresser) I have been vegging for 40 days now and will still veg for 20 days to help filling my screen... the 3 strains I have in there are 55-60 days to harvest...so it will be about 120 days of growth total... there is not much I can do about it, just wondering if my yield will be affected or it will just be a little harder to take care of watering when root bond... they are all in 3 galls. thanks
